@BuzzArgent_ lol this is so stupid. Any company who pays per views is going to just recalculate their revenue share rate to account for the extra views. Same with regular RPMS

Youtube just increased shorts creators revenue by 20-30% 🤓aCtUaLlY rEvEnUe wOn'T cHaNgE... WRONG! Because if you are earning through whop like me and my students are, you'll know that they payout by total views. And that means this update is just a free 30% revenue increase

@vexian I see this issue happen a lot with YouTubers that make content about tv shows. Make a bunch of videos about all shows, have one about a certain show do well, repeat that show a bunch of times, then attempt to move on and realize they’re stuck

This is a problem that YouTubers like Mr Beast, Alex Hormozi, and others face daily. It's also KILLING your channel (probably)

Well here’s the thing, sounds like you’re in the commentary niche. Your virailty potential has a lot of factors, but they all depend on saturation of the niche. If you’re in a competitive niche, getting insanely good stats isn’t gonna matter if everyone else is getting insanely good stats There’s a channel I ran this summer, where the competition was so low any swipe over 60 was guaranteed 150-200k minimum You’re right however to say that if a video goes viral on Instagram TikTok etc, it has a better chance of going viral on yt shorts, but that’s not guaranteed all the time. YouTube has so many different commentary videos they could push out, which means even with “good” stats, you’re still competing with hundreds of other shorts so it’s just less likely to get views.

@4MTContent then how does someone like myself find better videos? i've always followed if a video went viral on instagram, it can be transformed to do even better on youtube. Would love to pick your brain on that if you'd like

It's sad to me how alot of people on here use their egos to shit on others saying "make better videos" when Youtube is a mysterious figure sometimes with metrics that you would think give a virality algorithm push. People at the top use that to tarnish others and label them as "coping". That energy has got to go lmfaoooo Take this video for example, so do I just "wait it out" for 5 years haha

I mean seriously, don't get me wrong I feel horrible for those who got scammed, but you really believe that for a one time payment someone's gonna give you a fully monetized channel and an entire team to run it FOR you??? Literally makes no sense when you think about it, I guess people just don't know any better

Obviously we just have different experiences and are not going to agree. I hope you understand I’m not trying to say they don’t matter at all, my point is just that you can’t focus on them entirely and I assume that is what this original tweet is referring to (as it still has like 70% swipe). Agree to disagree and i don’t even think we’ve been on the same page this entire debate

I think you're missing my point... The original post said swipe rate & AVD "don't matter", they do, ask any large creator. Not once did I say statistics are they sole reason content does well. I said that if your stats are higher, your vid is more likely to do better. We'll have to agree to disagree.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: AVD (average view duration) and swipe ratio don't matter. Focus on making great videos, and they'll go viral eventually.

Also I hope you can see that this graphic somewhat proves my point. Look at how even with a swipe rate of 80%, theres still a 50% chance your short doesn’t get views. While obviously you’re not gonna get views with a 20% swipe rate, you can’t let the analytics decide if your short will go viral because they don’t completely determine the outcome of the video.

@4MTContent @thevivekburman @RahulBaidyax @Dvnagelx @Mokshsethi07 Study from 5500 shorts, it definitely makes a difference. You keep mentioning “focus on making good content”, but then you say statistics aren’t important. How else do you improve? Ask any large creator, analytics are one of the best ways to study and improve your content.

Wow 5% difference so much… the point of the entire post is you can’t let statistics determine your outlook on a videos performance. They really don’t matter if you’re making good content. You can sit there and focus on numbers all you want, but at the end of the day if you make content people want to watch it can perform well. So congrats man I guess you’re right, under 60% is impossible to perform well! But 65% is barely better, and the truth is you don’t need high Avd and high swipe if you just make a good video. And btw 63% AVD on a 60 second short is not “solid”, even though it’s contradicting what I’m saying with how stats don’t matter but I hope you get the point

@4MTContent @thevivekburman @RahulBaidyax @Dvnagelx @Mokshsethi07 That’s not under 60% swipe or 50% avd 😭 When a video is pushed to that many people, it’s less likely to stay at a high swipe rate. I’m assuming it was higher when first published. Also, they stayed on the video for 0:36. That’s pretty solid for a 56 second video imo.

@4MTContent @thevivekburman @RahulBaidyax @Dvnagelx @Mokshsethi07 Having good content & good statistics go hand-in-hand 99% of the time. If your content is actually good, chances are less people are going to swipe away & more people will stay until the end. Highly doubt there are viral shorts with less than 60% swipe rate / 50% avd.

I mean they matter to an extent. You can’t get a 4 swipe rate and 10avd and expect them to work, but you also don’t need a 90% swipe and 100%avd to go viral. Saying “they don’t matter” is more like saying that they’re not as important as people make them out to be. In the end ideation is always going to be more important

Arguably the toughest part that NOBODY talks about, is knowing when to move on from a channel. I have a shorts channel thats inevitably going to perform poorly for the next few months, but even in these tough times it will still bring in 5k/month. Don't know if I should bite the bullet and abandon it to focus on long form, where I could make much more, or try and keep it afloat and juggle both. Let me know if you guys have learned anything from past experiences.
