@6160MJ people like it because it’s acted, directed and written well, with one of the most interesting and unique aliens in the show’s history. it works as a stand alone episode. people who have never seen the show before watch if and recognise it’s a masterpiece of television

@jammywho21 But blink doesn’t even really feel like a doctor who episode. It is the least campy, doesn’t even focus on a character we’ve met before. I think it’s a good episode but the way people hold it up I think some people are insecure about the fact that the show is a little silly

@6160MJ I mean if your poll is about finding the best episode of a show, you’re generally going to vote for something that stands out from a lot of things that are very similar. You could argue the same for Heaven Sent.

@jammywho21 @anniightingale I would say the vibes are completely different though, and it also contributes to the season long arc while blink is a stand alone that many people have seen without watching the rest of the show which is something you cannot do with turn left

I do genuinely think it’s good, but how can it be the best episode of the show when it doesn’t really represent the rest of the show at all? Even if you compare blink to other episodes written by Moffat they are often sci-fi spectaculars which blink isn’t

i say this as someone who genuinely really likes petermj, i feel like many people want her to be a tradwife with no tangible life outside of peter and it sometimes reads to me as finding appeal in "taming" an independent feminist into submission. and its just. odd i guess lol
