Let’s assume Ryan Holiday is right and Donald Trump is evil. He then argues that Ivanka Trump can’t really speak on stoicism because by familial relation, she’s participating in that evil, which makes her not stoic. Now let's test this logic. Holiday constantly cites Seneca as a model for stoic wisdom. Someone whose teachings we should follow. Seneca was an advisor to Nero, one of Rome’s most ruthless and paranoid tyrants. So by that same logic: Ivanka can’t be taken seriously on stoicism because of who she’s related to. But Seneca should still be seen as wise—even though he directly advised a tyrant on how to hold and use power. Major contradiction. It never ceases to amaze me how many people who seem intelligent drop basic reasoning the moment Trump enters the conversation.

It takes WAY longer to see a patient who doesn't speak English. It always exhausts staff more. Part of the reason wait times have increased in Canada. We need to stop pretending. Pretending kills people who don't get seen because of the bottlenecks this issue causes.

Perhaps it's confirmation bias, but every parent I know in my peer group is willingly choosing hard mode by homeschooling their kids, sacrificing temporary comforts to ensure mom can stay home, and having 4+ kids. Very encouraging. They all deserve to be highly regarded, rewarded, and elevated in our society when we win.

Any claim that you can't be a libertarian nationalist is nonsense. I am absolutely certainly a libertarian, and might qualify as a nationalist - I say "might" because nationalist isn't all that well defined a term. Suppose you believe that your country is unique in that it was founded on libertarian ideals, and tends to return to them when it's not being mind-fucked by Communist subversives? Suppose you further believe the way forward for libertarianism is to achieve it in your one country first, and you should therefore be on the side of your country against all others? That's a completely reasonable position for an American to take. It's slightly wrong, because Iceland could make the same claim, but it's still reasonable. My friend @Devon_Eriksen_ describes himself as a libertarian nationalist, and I think he's harder-core about the nationalist part than I am. He might decide to educate you further on this point, that is if he doesn't decide you're too stupid to bother with which is also possible.
