This argument is flawed. 1. Julian Nagelsmann won his trophies at Bayern Munich, a team that is far better than Manchester United and Middlesbrough. Carrick took over at Middlesbrough when they were in a relegation battle. The team had only 16 points in 17 games and was just one point above the drop zone. He turned things around and pushed them into the Premier League playoffs twice. That is not the point you think it is, if anything, he should be praised for his work at Middlesbrough. 3. If you want to talk about Ruben Amorim having a 34% win rate at United, then also mention Carrick’s win rate at United, which is around 70% right now. And what is the guarantee that Nagelsmann will do better than Carrick at United? We have already seen big names like José Mourinho and Louis van Gaal fail here. Even promising coaches like Amorim and Erik ten Hag have struggled. So why not give Carrick time and support him based on the progress he has already shown?
