Teachers spend their whole lives in school but are expected to prepare kids for "the real world", which they've never lived in

This is why education is so toxic and recruitment is an issue. Shame on you and you are an absolute disgrace to the profession.

@DavWhite_Hist @Strickomaster Happened to my daughter but I felt she was down marked by teachers because she wasn’t in set 1 and because of her ks2 sats. Told just as much when I asked.

@Strickomaster We are considering having two of my son’s A Levels looked at. He’s one mark below on one and three on another. He got into the University he wanted so he isn’t sure but asking teacher to look at his papers first.

@Strickomaster I think teacher upmarket set one snd down mark lower sets. My experience - everyone in set one came down at least one grade. My daughter went up 2+ grades except when capped by being entered into the lower paper 🤷‍♀️

@rickygervais Oh wow that just got me - I watched season 1 but haven’t watched 2 since losing my husband. Thats how I feel though - like I’m walking through life with an imaginary companion by my side, which is better than none at all, with the world changing around me.

Starting the day with a fresh picking of flowers for the kitchen table. Crazy to think my wedding day was 25 years ago today and I’ve been widowed for nine.

@Headteacherchat I can’t believe we’re still having this conversation. Children have written the title and date since schools began. An LO is no different just more focussed, as long as teachers keep it short and to the point. It focusses the children and indicates the lesson has started.

Just a thought: How much time could be saved if children didn't have to write out the learning objective or question?
