While I understand safety is paramount, this level of cancellations by Air India is shocking!! Why on earth did Air India not have a backup plan for this scenario? This is not the 1st time in recent history that such an issue has occurred in the Middle East. Right now, rather than offering an alternative to closed Middle East Airports for passengers flying from Asia to the UK/Europe, Air India is still figuring out what to do. Air India should have route-trained pilots for this scenario.

The north and south corridors unfortunately not available to Indian carriers. The north is blocked due to no Pakistan overfly. And the south over Oman and Saudi Arabia due to DGCA directive. Therefore heading West from India is extremely difficult now.
