“If KLM in Netherlands is flying 28 flights a week into India because of the [size of] the Indian market, and on the other hand the Indian operators such as Air India only get like seven flights, and [there is] nothing or just a handful of slots for IndiGo at Amsterdam’s Schipol, then there should be some balance,” Pieter Elbers Well said, Pieter Elbers. I totally agree, and I'd extend it to other areas and include the Middle East. thehindu.com/business/indig… Note there is precedent for this, the 2007 Air India Malaysian Airlines London Heathrow slot deal. airliners.net/forum/viewtopi…

If a foreign airline or its home airport is prohibiting Indian airlines/carriers from effectively competing, then: "Indian airlines/carriers must stand up for themselves, and be creative with their demands; asking for things in return, once they said airline/carrier or country exceeds a basic number of flights" Slot hoarding at foreign airports like London Heathrow or hogging new aircraft could also count. Otherwise, Indian airlines/carriers will not become global supercarriers. Note: This is the 21st Century, and world dynamics are changing. Particular countries don't yield the power they once did.

Hopefully, this does not happen: HMRC officials are drawing up plans to impose VAT of 20pc on top of the fees that airports charge airlines to use their runways and terminals. The Telegraph also understands that ministers are exploring the possibility of backdating the tax by as many as four years – the maximum permitted under current legislation. Such a move would add around £1bn to costs paid by airlines that fly from Heathrow alone. Plans are being drawn up by HMRC and could be announced later this year. Heathrow is understood to be taking legal advice on the proposals and it’s consulting tax experts. telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/… #heathrow @HeathrowAirport @HeathrowNews

From regional airports to government and industry voices, there’s clear support for Heathrow expansion – unlocking new UK routes, boosting tourism and connecting communities nationwide. And the latest analysis from @FrontierEcon’ report, Keeping the UK Connected: Domestic Connectivity at Heathrow, shows how unlocking new domestic routes could bolster £335m in annual gross tourism spend for the UK.🔑 The backing is clear. ⬇️ Hear from Tourism Minister @Steph_Peacock MP, @LBIAirport CEO Vincent Hodder, @AirportsUKNews and @HeathrowAirport's Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer, Nigel Milton. Find out which five UK airports have been highlighted in the latest report ➡️ heathrow.com/content/dam/he…

✈️ Belfast International Airport, Cornwall Airport Newquay, Leeds Bradford Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Teesside International Airport have been identified as the most likely to benefit from new or restored Heathrow connections to Heathrow, when additional airport capacity is delivered by a third runway. New research from @FrontierEcon highlights the five UK airports as the strongest candidates for new domestic routes linked to Heathrow, the UK’s hub airport, based on clear evidence of underlying demand from passengers. @HeathrowAirport is already operating at capacity. In 2025 almost 5 million passengers travelled across Heathrow’s domestic routes, supporting an estimated £1.2bn in gross tourism spend nationwide. With capacity expanded, these five additional routes could unlock a further £335m each year.🔑 Find out more about Domestic Connectivity at Heathrow in our latest report ➡️ heathrow.com/content/dam/he… @belfastairport | @Newquay_Airport | @LBIAirport | @LPL_Airport | @Teesairport

@indianaviatior Not in this case. Both countries flag carrier's are in Star Alliance. LOT fly's to India. So makes sense have GSA's there. Poland will be served by AI much later down the track due to LOT in star. Don't expect anything in my view before 2029.

Air India Cancellations & reductions list as per Aeroroutes, usually a reliable source If these are correct, I find some of these cancellations & route suspensions really shocking, even though I'm an Air India fan. Particularly: Delhi-Chicago Delhi – New York Newark Mumbai-New York JFK Singapore Note: Singapore stands suspended total throughout June & August. Only Delhi Singapore running 4 weekly in July. The only saving grace is that, as of now, London Heathrow and the wider UK seem to have been spared. How have things come to this? It can't all be due to the Iran Crisis Fallout, & Pakistan Airspace closure The aircraft re-fit delays must be playing a part. aeroroutes.com/eng/260512-aij… @SeanMendis @BLRAviation @networkthoughts @LiveFromALounge
