@BigMoSeider @RonoAnalyst I think it’s a stretch to keep using a 7-year old roster as to why things are still bad today. If they decide to retain him, I think we need to elevate Cossa immediately and the goal for next year should be at least of playoff series victory.

@AStarrFF @RonoAnalyst I agree in the sense that people have a lot of reason to think he should. But for those that are saying he will, or positing a will he/won’t he type of question, the answer is 100% no. And this isn’t even adding in the context of what he inherited as far as the roster. But 🤷🏻‍♂️

@BigMoSeider @RonoAnalyst Not saying you’re wrong. In fact, I think you’re probably correct that he won’t get fired. But there’s merit to the noise that he SHOULD be fired.

@AStarrFF @RonoAnalyst My point is that literally nothing exists in a vacuum, and if you think for more than 5 seconds about *any* additional information beyond the performance of *this year*, it’s pretty stupid to think he’ll be straightup fired by Chris Illitch.

@RonoAnalyst I truly don’t know why anyone thinks Yzerman will be fired. Take away the performance of the team aspect and all the nuance of what Yzerman came into in 2019… He’s one of the most revered athletes in Detroit history, and he’s Chris Illitch’s cover. No shot he’s ever fired

@sharpereview It’s true that the 2027 RB1 just isn’t as valuable as what we’ve seen in years past (right now). My RB1 is Ahmad Hardy, but I have had a shaky history with him; so how much I’d be willing to invest isn’t anywhere near what I was paying for someone like Jeremiyah Love in 2025.

@AStarrFF The question is always “compared to what?” IMO theres no certainty at the position. No Jeremiah Smith, Bijan Robinson or Trevor Lawrence. Someone must be taken as the RB1 - and the player you’re most confident in investing that capital in is whom?

Hi, it’s me again, bringing back the Justice Haynes slander schtick. Before I get into it, let me first say I was wrong to be fully out on Haynes. He proved me wrong with his fantastic season at Michigan last season. I’m now comfortable saying he’s a good running back, but…🧵

And maybe this entire thread should be interpreted as a Hosley endorsement more so than a Haynes indictment. But I’m no fool, I know what gets the clicks! Anyway, Hosley is currently going undrafted in both devy and C2C mocks and I think he may be the best value at the position.

I want to say definitively that I still have Haynes comfortably in the top 5 RBs in the 2027 class. But if you invest capital in him as the RB1, you may be forced to reconcile that take with him being the 2nd most productive player in his own backfield.
