Said it earlier today & even more so feel this way now. The C's (Tatum/Brown/Mazzulla/Stevens/etc) should come together around trying to figure out what their path to playing together again looks like post-trade saga. It's still this team's best chance of contending in near term.

Acquiring Ja Morant feels like a set-up trade to me given all the Jaylen Brown rumors in Portland. Now the Blazers could feel more comfortable sending Jrue Holiday, Scoot Henderson, and Shaedon Sharpe with draft picks to Boston for Jaylen Brown. We'll see what happens.

If LeBron joins the Warriors, it’ll prove once again that public perception has never influenced his career. He joined the Lakers knowing Kobe loyalists would push back. - POR gets off the Grant money, receives JB & a young wing
- C's get three 1st Rd picks instead of four

What we've heard about a possible Jaylen Brown to Blazers deal: - The C's are looking for a big & draft capital - POR has a TON of draft capital & Donovan Clingan - POR would "prefer to keep" Clingan - POR hasn't put Toumani Camara on the table...yet - POR would prefer to deal Shaedon Sharpe & Scoot Henderson It seems like Portland is the most likely JB destination and is holding back on putting Camara and/or Clingan in the deal, until the C's lower their ask on picks/swaps. They should be able to meet in the middle, IF they're both motivated.

@RealBobManning Trading him for Giannis made sense as a talent upgrade & reset. But none of the other potential trades are an upgrade so just don’t make sense. I get he’s at his peak value & the huge extension is scary but there’s no deal that keeps them as contenders. Better to hold on to him.
