He just put out the most comprehensive history of South Africa I have ever witnessed.
Robert Duigan@uMarhobane

I notice this sort of comment a lot, but there really isn't anyone who actually thinks whites arrived in SA before anyone else The "empty land" thesis was never as strongly stated as the strawman we are usually exposed to The main serious contentions are that we arrived in the Cape to find Khoi peoples, struck deal with some of them for land and landsharing, and went to war with those who stuck to cattle raiding, often in very cruel ways We met Bantus only a century later, and set up settlements far from traditional Bantu settlements in what was a fairly sparsely populated landscape In the mid-19th century only around 2m people lived in what is now SA - plenty of place to settle. This was exacerbated by the Zulu/Mzilikazi wars of expansion, but the main factor was just the sheer size of the country and the slim population The way we conducted warfare was far more decisive than the constant tit-for-tat raids Africans were used to (Zulu wars of consolidation excepted), and we pacified and contained our neighbours to their core settlement regions These only became densely populated enough to threaten their agricultural autonomy in the early 20th century, and then only because of a lack of modernisation and access to capital They were formalised and segregated from 1913, followed by a poll tax to force them into the mines to undercut unionised white labour; the white workers revolted, were put down by aerial bombardment, and voted in a populist coalition of nationalists and socialists We got apartheid as a means of compromise between the mines and the voters, to try to have it both ways, and it was only sustainable for two and a half generations Eventually our settlements were overrun, and we just basically gave up Now we have stupid debates about who was more civilised instead of asking how we actually work out a sustainable political arrangement, because postponing radical decisions and pretending alles sal regkom is just what we do Partition would have worked 100 years ago, but we wanted cheap labour, so we let ourselves be overrun, and that's it really. Orania can't save everyone, but nobody wants to build Orania 2.0, because that would be difficult and risky. The Western Cape can't save SA, but everyone is too scared to head for the exit, so we let the DA drag us all into the gaping maw of the "liberation" movement. Worst part is how many people saw it coming from as early as 1947, and yet couldn't convince others to act. And we content ourselves with scoring petty points against people who are grasping at the slimmest straws of collective self-esteem in the face of a fading civilisation that was too grand to emulate but too weak to survive Pitiable behaviour on both sides

@HowardFeldman This is a classic protective pretext: using “safety” to mask exclusion. When the persecutor speaks in the language of concern, the lie becomes harder to see — and easier to believe.

@HowardFeldman Because Maccabi tel Aviv holigians are a bunch of racist Jewish supremacist that think they can go anywhere and sing songs about how much they hate arabs and want to burn down their villages. The only thing they deserve is getting their asses beaten like they did in Amsterdam

The ANC failed Daniel not because they have a particular hatred for him or Jews but, because unlike Hamas Daniel didn't offer them millions to advocate for his return. Every South African is a Daniel because they simply don't care about us. They only care about looting.
Embassy of Israel SA@IsraelinSA

Daniel Perez, may his memory be a blessing, was brought home after 738 days in Hamas captivity. Daniel was born in SA 🇿🇦 and held South African citizenship. Given the special relations the SA🇿🇦 government and @DIRCO_ZA have with Hamas, one would think they’d care about one of their own. Wouldn’t they?

We were endlessly told by our mainstream media about the ‘flotilla hostages that Israel was unlawfully detaining’. I found out today that a South African was kidnapped and held hostage by Hamas for years - and somehow this was never a story?
