The way Ambedkar Jayanti is becoming a bigger event with each passing year, I think, in the coming years, it'll become the biggest festival in India, much like Chinese New Year for China or Thanksgiving for the US. It could turn into a seven-day festival, with schools and offices organizing events to commemorate it each day. Indian migrant workers might start returning from abroad to celebrate it. We might even begin inviting foreign heads of state to attend, much like on Republic Day. The state currency could feature Ambedkar, and every year there could be a new tallest statue of Ambedkar, each one taller than the last.

Govt admits in Rajya Sabha: India lost 18,727 government schools in 5 years, while private unaided schools rose by 8,475 in just one year. Public education is shrinking. Private schooling is expanding. #education #RajyaSabha

19000 SC ST OBC students drop out from IIT, IIM and other Central Universities The number of dropout students from Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in all Central Universities, Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), and the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) during the period between 2018 to 2023 has crossed 19,000. It was revealed that 6901 OBC candidates, 3596 SC and 3949 ST students dropped out of Central Universities. Similarly, 2544 OBC candidates, 1362 SC and 538 ST students dropped out of IITs. Additionally, 133 OBC, 143 SC and 90 ST candidates dropped out of IIMs in the past five years. (Source: indianexpress.com/article/educat…) The IISERs (and IITs) have previously been noted in multiple Rajya Sabha sessions to have disproportionately higher dropout rates of Dalit/ST students, and our analysis confirms this reality. Between 2006 and 2010, Dalit and ST students accounted for roughly half of all dropouts in any given year, far outnumbering dropouts from the General Category. The probability of dropping out was much higher for SC and ST students. These shows that there is significant discrimination against SC/ST/OBC students at IITs, IIMs and other central universities. There is a real need to create a more accepting environment at IITs and IIMs. #iit #iim #dropout

@irfhabib ♦️Bhagat Singh hailed Vinayak Savarkar as "Veer" in a write up. ♦️Published the 4th & 1st Indian ed. of Savarkar's book on the Great Revolt of 1857. ♦️Savarkar's "Hindu PadShahi" finds mention in Bhagat's Jail Notes. Yet, mention of any of these facts draw abuse. Why so ?
