What are your thoughts on the concept of family doctors earning $300k a year without overhead, based on a specified quota of patients annually? This raises questions about the perception of doctors regarding their roles in Canada. Are they shifting away from aspiring to be independent entrepreneurs and considering themselves more as public servants within public facilities? Furthermore, it is important to contemplate whether the proposed 900-patient quota would differ in rural versus urban communities. How would its enforcement and measurement be approached? It appears that this discussion is not simply a matter of black and white; there are nuanced considerations at play. In addition, it is crucial to have a fundamental conversation about how doctors perceive themselves in this country. Do they prefer a risk-free profession reliant on the government, or are they willing to accept the risks of being independent entrepreneurs? IMHO, having both options simultaneously, as we currently have, has lead to the confusion regarding both the issues and potential solutions and we need to do better.
