Losing a cup final will always sting, esp when you don’t play anywhere near your best, but these players have dug in all season and to get us into a great position to win silverware. Hope we can get some players back after the break for one big final push.

Don’t try to belittle this trophy to make yourselves feel better. It was a Final. Quad on the line - a shot at history. Embarrassing but I’m not surprised as I’ve repeatedly said our attack is dogshit. It is what it is. Just pray we get over the line in the Premier League.

@clivepafc @JLyons_FI @Sebekstrom still think it‘s too often we said that this season. We‘re still in a great position, don‘t get me wrong. But performances matter & we need to be better against elite teams. We need to be able to also play a bit against them. And if you can‘t do that, threaten them in other ways

Well, that was awful. City so comfortable in that second half. Couldn’t lay a glove on them. Lots of focus on Kepa and I don’t understand not playing your best keeper in a final, but even so, that was not the only reason the result went the way it did. What is with League Cup finals?? Just horrible, horrible experiences since 93.

@timstillman_ it‘s a massive worry that we seemingly can‘t play out against pressure. Stand 4 guys there and our whole build up is fucked. Plus can‘t hold any ball cause the technical level is so poor.

Fair fucks, City had their game plan spot on. Their press totally stopped Arsenal from playing out. Disappointed with how passive manager and players were in response at the beginning of the second half. Needed a tweak to positioning when playing out but there wasn’t one, just kept playing into the jaws of death until the inevitable happened.

@billycarpy technical level in big games is abysmal. we can‘t be dominant cause elite teams will press you & we just can‘t play out against pressure. That‘s a massive worry. Tactics & physicality important, but in those big games, technical level to play under pressure is so important.

Terrible. The game was lost because Pep could basically put a narrow front-four in front of a midfield two and dare the rest to play around or over, and there wasn't enough technical security to do that. Hoofing is a contagion.

@afcDW Calafiori has to play big games. Our ability to play under pressure is abysmal and he is one of the few we have who can do it.

I like Hincapié and I don’t think he was bad defensively, but it’s just so obvious that if we need to break a team down we have to play Calafiori. Should’ve come on at half-time, given the yellow.

@arse2mouse not being able to play out of the back AT ALL when a team presses us is quite worrying. Elite teams will do that and I fear it‘s not enough to be only dominant when a team sits back and lets you have the ball. really really bad. Technical level is abysmal

Fully deserved win for City, who we looked worryingly far off. Not sure if Pep baited us into going long or what but we never looked likely after that initial flurry. Sucks to sit on that result for so long now, but we've made our bed. Hold onto it being the 4th L of the season.

@_PhilCosta We play dominant against Everton or Leeds. We can‘t do it against big teams because our talent and technical ability is simply not good enough. It‘s quite bad tbh

Second best all over the pitch and on the touchline. Really disappointed.

@gunnerpunner yep that‘s the difference. It‘s nothing to do with tactics. It‘s talent and ability to keep playing under pressure. The best teams can do that against elite teams as well not only against Everton etc. We just can‘t do it. We are not good enough at all with the ball.

You can say it’s tactics but the players out there haven’t had the talent or intent to do anything. When you watch City, it’s jarring how little technical ability our midfielders and forwards have. And none of them aside from Rice have elite physicality.

@YankeeGunner we cannot play out from the back when we face a press at all. It‘s enough to stand 4 players up front. We don‘t have any solutions. We boot the ball away and can‘t hold it. Cherki‘s technical quality quite a hard watch when you compare it with our players.

This has been a very, very, very poor second half characterized by an astonishing lack of technical security and composure on the ball. Unfortunately, it’s not the first time we’ve seen this recently. The Brighton and Chelsea games had worrying periods like this as well.

@MAA_Gunner Cherki alone has better technical quality than our whole squad, maybe a problem I would say when most of your players can‘t trap a ball

Rice & Zubi running around without a third midfielder. Third big game in a week they’ve both started. We’ve very obviously missed a third midfielder today. You can’t play against City without legs there.

For all the possession we were holding them off. They didn’t create much. That’s such a bad error from Kepa.

@gunnerpunner you still have to keep the ball. We didn‘t touch it for about 10 mins. It was inevitable that they score. We don‘t have players with enough technical quality. Cherki and Bernardo have played rondos today. Calafiori needs to start those games as well. Plays with personality

They’ve roasted us 2v1 on both fullbacks. Saka & Trossard haven’t had the legs to handle it. Can’t track their man, and can’t get forward.

@_PhilCosta we can‘t play football when someone presses us. That‘s a really big problem. We are so passive and we just don‘t have enough players who can hold a ball and are technical enough to keep it. It‘s abysmal
