En juin, avait lieu le séminaire résidentiel du LBMC à Bagnol. Les membres du laboratoire se sont retrouvés pour une journée de réflexion sur le projet du LBMC, des ateliers autour de la médiation scientifique et la recherche reproductible, sans oublier des moments conviviaux.

Super proud of this great work by @JDPeiffer. arxiv.org/abs/2405.17368 He extended our work using implicit representations and differentiable biomechanics for end-to-end optimization of trajectories. We are getting really low joint angle errors from a single smartphone!

@peabody124 @PPuchaud @JDPeiffer What about the other joint ? We can see on the nice video that the foot... is not moving that much. Is there any plan to go for the other joint ? :)

@AlexandreNaaim @PPuchaud @JDPeiffer Exactly! That's why most of the data set we were using in this validation study was like our clinic data - following patient - and we still get nice precision for joint angles. The world tracking is only up to translation equivariant (which for how we collected TUG was fine).

@PPuchaud @peabody124 @JDPeiffer I would argue for an ease of use for a clinician. You just take out your phone from your pocket, ask your patient to do some movement and BAM some motion capture is happening. But as you imply, the issue of the precision might be still there.

@peabody124 @JDPeiffer Thanks for the thread 🧵. This is truely impressive. What would be the practical application of using a moving camera ? Most biomechanics analysis have relied on static cameras (for the better ? ).
