Take a look at the first accounts followed by Mostafa Ziko, the Egyptian forward who came out yesterday questioning Messi and Argentina's victory, claiming that FIFA wants Messi to win and that everything is predetermined.
I swear, yesterday I checked the accounts of the people with the worst behavior in the comments, and around 90% of them were related to Cristiano Ronaldo or Real Madrid.
They are the driving force behind this campaign. They simply couldn't stand watching Messi do what he's doing, even at this age, after already achieving everything there is to achieve in football, while their player had been sent off and eliminated from the World Cup the day before, as usual.
This time, they found support from some Egypt national team players and their crazy coach, who helped fuel this drama. As a result, we've seen endless talk about the refereeing and constant attempts to downplay the achievements of Messi and Argentina, even going as far as questioning everything Messi has accomplished.
In reality, this entire spectacle was created for one reason only: to distract people from the extraordinary things Messi continues to do.
