I think college is not only for studying. It's more about knowing society. Before college, most students live with their parents, and most of our day-to-day responsibilities are taken care of by them. When you go to college, you need to take care of yourself, communicate with people from various regions, learn how to make friends, and experience so many new things apart from studies.

Did you know India started its semiconductor self-reliance journey in the 1970s, but we failed! Not because we lacked vision or talent. We did not pursue it for long, and financial support was missing. I loved this amazing article published in The Hindu by @kiranshaw. A few days ago, I wrote about it and received a lot of backlash. I highlighted one important bottleneck: why India is lacking in building world-class institutions that can compete globally. It was the apathy of Indian billionaires, who do not spend enough on research and development compared to other OECD countries. We also have pioneers in a few industries like pharmaceuticals - we are now called the pharmacy of the world. But we are not self-reliant here either, as we import most required APIs from China. Now we are at an inflection point: either we build something that can compete globally or perish again. Kiran highlighted three industries where India can lead globally: 1. Quantum computing. 2. Affordable and scalable AI. 3. Space technologies.
