Am I unusual in not seeing the point in biopics about musicians? We have access to hundreds of hours of footage of the real deal, and, more importantly, a personal relationship with the artist and their work. Who wants to see someone impersonate McCartney or Lennon or Dylan or Springsteen when we can see and hear the real thing?

@bobdylansbarber Because they (a) think your hearing is poor, (b) want you to answer it because they have a cat on their lap, (c) both a & b.

When you hear a knock at your front door, or the doorbell goes, why does the person with you have to say ‘there’s someone at the door’?!!!!

@AndyGoMAD Which probably explains how the gap between those who’ve enjoyed those sorts of increases and those who haven’t have widened so much in the period?

You know just to have the same purchasing power in 2025 that you had in 2008, your salary would need to have increased by approximately 55%? It’s no wonder so many feel they’re going backwards.

@bobdylansbarber 3% increase p.a. is 68.9% compound growth over 17 years.

@bobdylansbarber If it was 10.7% increase not adjusted for inflation, then they would definitely be worse off.

@bobdylansbarber So would that therefore mean that the majority of those receiving salaries feel they are moving toward because they would have exceeded 55% income growth?

@AndyGoMAD Apparently adjusting for inflation, the median UK full-time salary increased by approximately 10.7% in real terms from 2008 to 2025. Would vary across sectors I guess.
