@Comrade_inn How? I hold 100 million barrels worth futures. I sold 10 mn barrels worth. It’s a large order and thus moved market. I don’t care about the price impact as I have other agenda (why else would I hold that big size) ? Is it manipulation?

@faangtofno Certainly. The argument that now anyone without any coding knowledge can code their way into a super useful software has fallen fairly quickly. It writes slop, but you can make it useful with sufficient experience and iterations.

@Ankit_Quant as time passes: the slop feels predictable though. once you know which patterns it defaults to, you stop accepting the first output and start treating it like a first draft. the real problem is people are shipping the first draft.

Claude code writes the code then reviews it for $20 then finds critical issues then Claude code fixes those issues. Only for Claude code to review it again for $20. AGI

@pranavvk My expectations have been driven by what’s been promised by the creators of those models. Sure some marketing hype is discounted for. But in my experience, there is a wide gap between what’s being claimed and what’s ground reality. This doesn’t mean they aren’t useful.

@Ankit_Quant But that's because you are expecting more out of it. If you accept the limitations, you can work within them in a far more efficient way. I've actually had complex functions be rotated from chatgot to gemini to grok to claude... Each one refining it.

It’s not just me who thinks AI writes a bunch of slop code. It aims for plausible correctness. Anyone worth their salt is coming to this conclusion. Need for software devs is going ⬆️ Need for great software devs is going to 🚀🚀

@pranavvk My point being, if I drive an autonomous car and at every turn need to manually maneuver it, the utility of autonomous car is diminished greatly. If I have to keep cross checking my agentic code with other agents, I get into this perpetual loop. Nothing philosophical about it

@Ankit_Quant How? It's a productivity enhancer .. Tools exist for you to use them, not to be philosophical about how you use them.

@Ankit_Quant I've actually never had code spat out that is "slop". maybe again because I keep the blast reladius really really small. If anything, take the code one ai gives you, run it through a second... Will tune it even better.

@pranavvk That’s why I said need for great devs is going to sky rocket. Because AI writes slop and needs a lot of intervention. It is great for me if I have to code in Java as I don’t know the language. I’ll use whatever slop it generates. OTOH for Py, I need to micro manage it .

@Ankit_Quant So you control for those... Don't give them massive scope...use them as a scalpel .. They are a force multiplier, not a replacement .

@pranavvk They write codes that - - usually work and get the job done - are inefficient - as the scope grows, are not backward compatible or breakdown

@Ankit_Quant I'm going to disagree... lLMs write fantastic code... Just give them small snippets to do Codex, implement this function that does xyz, with a method signature and don't touch anything else. My most commonly used prompt

Citadel Securities published this graph showing a strange phenomenon. Job postings for software engineers are actually seeing a massive spike. Classic example of the Jevons paradox. When AI makes coding cheaper, companies actually may need a lot more software engineers, not fewer. When software is cheaper to build, companies naturally want to build a lot more of it. Businesses are now putting software into industries and tools where it was simply too expensive before. --- Chart from citadelsecurities .com/news-and-insights/2026-global-intelligence-crisis/

I am a proud US citizen and founder of a successful startup that employs 94 employees in the US and 180+ employees globally. I was in Dubai on a business trip meeting with financial institutions to help them fight financial fraud in the region, but now I am stranded. I expected the @usgov to do something to get US citizens out but I haven't seen any meaningful action. After 4 days of adrenalin and constant fear, I feel demoralised and abandoned by our government. It’s difficult watching other countries – UK, Israel, Spain, Italy and India – repatriate their citizens or ensure that commercial flights continue operating to bring them home. I became a naturalized US citizen because I believe in the American dream, and the idea that in a crisis, America never leaves its citizens behind. I see that American dream being shattered not just for me, but for tens of thousands of other Americans left stranded. I have 3 requests of our government: 1. Can the @usgov ensure the commercial airlines don't cancel US bound flights? I've booked a dozen flights to leave Dubai and ALL of them got canceled, even as flights to other countries continue operating. 2. If that is not possible, can the USG organize planes, commercial or military, to evacuate Americans out of Dubai and the surrounding region? I saw a very hopeful note from the Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs which states, “the US State Dept is in touch with 3,000 Americans and that we should call 1-202-501-4444 for assistance with departure options.” But that is unfortunately not accurate. I am enrolled in Step and have only received generic messages. Further, on calling that number, the message you get is: "Please don't rely on the USG for assisted departure or evacuation at this point. There are currently no evacuation flights at this time." 3. With funding cuts to the US consulates and with attacks on US embassies in the region, there’s no one that Americans can reach out to in the broader GCC region. Can we set up an emergency hotline within the US that actually works, and that has someone who is taking down more details? @SecRubio just stated that there are 1500 Americans who have contacted asking for assistance to evacuate. How did they do that because I am completely at a loss on who to call? I called up 1-202-501-4444 and all I got is a generic message. Myself and other Americans need help getting back home.

I thought this was parody. I was right. Liberalism in India is a parody. Dictators who have massacred lakhs of their own citizens, who don't give basic freedom to women and children, who have unleashed the worst kind of religious conservatism - are celebrated as "beacons of resistance". And these same people will also tell you that Modi is a fascist dictator who needs to be resisted at all cost. Imagine publicly stating in the same breath that - "Khamenei is a beacon of resistance and Modi if a fascist." I would be embarrassed of appearing in public if I held both these views at the same time. But they see no duality or hypocrisy in their shamelessness. Thankfully, ordinary Indians do. Which is why they have become irrelevant in the country.

Comrades, brothers and sisters in the struggle, In this hour of profound grief, my heart goes out to the people of Iran as we mourn the tragic loss of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Leader who stood as a beacon of resistance against tyranny for decades. His passing is not just a personal tragedy but a blow to all who fight for sovereignty and dignity in the face of oppression. May his soul find peace, and may his legacy inspire the oppressed everywhere to rise stronger. But let us name the culprits without fear: this barbaric assassination reeks of the blood-soaked hands of imperialist America under its warmongering regime and the Zionist aggressors of Israel! These fascist forces, drunk on power and hypocrisy, unleash drones and missiles like cowards, trampling international law, slaughtering innocents, and engineering chaos to serve their empire of exploitation. From Tehran to Gaza, their crimes scream of genocide and domination—enough is enough! We condemn this naked imperialism in the strongest terms; it is terrorism disguised as “defense,” a vile assault on humanity itself. To the Iranian people—the workers, women, youth, and all resisting souls—our unwavering solidarity. Your pain is our pain, your fight is our fight. Let this fuel the global fire against colonialism and fascism! Jai Bhim! Jai Hind! Inquilab Zindabad! ✊🇮🇷🇮🇳 @khamenei_ir @Khamenei_fa
