@banks_chef They also reduce or no longer stock own brand or cheaper items. Smaller outlets only stock named brands which are always the most expensive.

I find it absolutely disgusting that Supermarkets can be posting some of there highest pre tax profits during a living crisis and putting prices up. Surely our Government should step in and put price caps on essentials.

So I went to see Spike Milligan's gravestone recently, to see for myself the "I told you I was ill" epitaph. Bright sunny day, slightly faded inscription, couldn't see it. Walked away somewhat disgruntled, another bloody urban myth I thought. 5 minutes later had a thought, had to walk back again, fool, there it was "Dúirt mé leat go mé breoite," which of course is Irish for "I told you I was ill. Who knew.

@JohnOSullivan36 @gomichild Followed Delhi Smith's recipe for rice and never washed it either. In a pot with a lid, whatever amount of rice, double the amount of water, bring to the boil, turn heat to as low as possible and cook until the water is no more, perfect fluffy rice every time, never fails.

I have a confession: I have never washed rice in my life … 🤣🤣 @gomichild please forgive me

I don’t get the fascination with Farage, is it the creepiness, the lies, the blatant racism, the elite pretending to be man of the people schtick, maybe it’s the double standards, the fakery, the manipulation, perhaps it’s the money grubbing and Nazi sympathies that appeal 🤷‍♀️

@paullewismoney Well maybe if these parents have any conscience the money they were paying to private schools they might drop a few quid to the new school their child/children are now attending since all schools seem to be struggling financially.
