I urge all LA residents to heed evacuation orders and follow the directions of emergency officials. Protect your family and loved ones, do what is advised. Firefighters and first responders are battling the dangerous and unpredictable #PalisadesFire #EatonFire, and California will be there to support evacuation and recovery efforts. Stay safe, remain vigilant, be prepared.

Today it was a great honor to be elected by my colleagues to serve another term as Speaker of the California Assembly. Our task this session is urgent and clear: We must chart a new path forward and renew the California Dream by focusing on affordability. California will always be a place of opportunity. But that opportunity must shine equally for everyone in every corner of this great state. Over the next two years, we must do everything in our power — collectively — to renew the California Dream. Millions of Californians have put their faith in us. Let’s get it done. Let’s get to work.

.@potus has my deepest gratitude for his selfless leadership and the incredible progress he’s made for America. We are forever indebted to him for beating @realDonaldTrump in 2020, and for laying the foundation to beat him again in 2024. Thank you, Mr. President.

Residents have spoken loud and clear: They want to feel safe. We are saying enough is enough on organized retail theft. Now that the Assembly has taken action, I expect the Senate to move quickly and send these bills to the Governor for signature.

All five lanes of the I-10 will be open to passenger and commercial traffic by Tuesday, November 21. Thanks to the crews who have been working around the clock, we're on track to open the 10 before millions of Angelenos hit the road for Thanksgiving.
