@FoxNews So, how does this work? The idea of a May day protest just randomly bubbled up?
And who approved these events for teachers to attend?
Did parents sign field trip permission slips?
I don't recall Kroger allowing cashiers and stock clerks time to protest in the local park.

NOW: Thousands are gathering in Raleigh, North Carolina, for May Day protests.
At least 11 school districts announced last-minute schedule changes, leaving parents scrambling to make childcare arrangements, according to reports.
Teachers planned to participate in "Kids Over Corporations" protests, organized by the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE).
Protesters are calling for increased funding for public education.

@CynicalPublius Well, it also explains the Left's mindset: if they can't understand a given perspective it's not because they lack the knowledge, can't comprehend the subject, or can't see another perspective.
No, it's because the other person is a dumbass.

The below post is discussing the fact that educated people on the Right are capable of clearly explaining the political and social ideas of people on the Left in a manner that people on the Left will agree with, while the inverse is vanishingly rare.
Idiots on the Left claim that this is because their ideas are coherent and sensible, while Rightwing ideas are incoherent and unsensible.
This is nonsense, and the reality has to do with our higher education system.
Universities are uniformly indoctrination centers for Leftwing thought, so educated conservatives inherently have a deep and thorough understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of modern Leftist belief systems. There is no such reciprocal platform in universities where conservatism is reliably taught, so as a result Leftists are at an extreme disadvantage when debating--they simply have no idea where we conservatives are coming from.
This phenomenon is easily witnessed here on X, as erudite conservatives rip down Leftist shibboleths with ease (because we understand them) while Leftists (lacking the academic training in their opponents' beliefs that we possess so deeply) embarrass themselves constantly by arguing against the corrupt strawman interpretations of conservatism they have formed in their own addled, brainwashed minds.

@DeAngelisCorey 'Twould be great if they organized their schools to learn math.

@mcafeenew @UnmaskTheSys One can judge the tree by the fruit it produces.

@officer_Lew At some point, two objects grinding against other generate enough heat and friction to cause system failure.

It's not this scenario in isolation.
It's the accumulation of multiple sensors that track driving behaviors these days from vibrating steering wheels that jerk the car when changing a lane without signaling on an empty highway or cruise control slamming on the brakes when the car ahead slows while merging into the off ramp or dash messages telling me I need a break.
The use of cell phones while driving is illegal in some areas to avoid distracting drivers. I'd love to see a study of the impact of random beeps, automatic braking, and irrelevant dash messages on driver attention.

@truthstreamnews To be fair your car telling you "If you don't calm down I'll kill us both" is a pretty good premise for a horror movie but I think Stephen King has already written like 4 of these.

@Sassafrass_84 Politicians are afraid of imposing a little discipline on their constituents as much as constituents are afraid of imposing discipline on themselves.
This is the real bifurcation in the US: people that can process delayed gratification and those that can't.

"Defends" the price? Why?
Starbucks is free to charge what they will and customers can freely choose to accept the price or reject it.
Ain't capitalism grand?
Now, if the price was regulated or customers were forced to only buy Starbucks coffee we'd have another name for that type of economy, wouldn't we?
English

Starbucks CEO defends a cup of coffee costing $9
He says the customers needs to just not think about it as a $9 cup of coffee, you’re paying for the “experience” of getting a Starbucks coffee
“In some cases a $9 experience does feel like you're splurging, and then what that means is we have to make it worthwhile.”
He says Starbucks customers “want to have a special experience and regardless of what your income level is, in some cases, a $9 experience does feel like you're splurging — well, this is a really affordable premium experience”
How out of touch could a person possibly be…

@micah_erfan Here's a crazy thought: if candidates chose positions that reflected more closely that of the voters and educated those voters they might win more elections.

@Archwinger1 Respectfully, what is the data supporting a 100% vaccination rate in newborns?
What %age of mothers are found to be infection-prone on or around birth that makes this a prudent policy?
English

Attention Internet:
The Hep B vaccine is given to every single baby because we can't trust mothers to disclose accurate embarrassing or unsavory information about themselves to doctors (especially if Dad is in the picture and might find out) even when the baby's life is at stake
The Washington Post@washingtonpost
Breaking news: The Trump administration’s move to drop the long-standing recommendation for newborn hepatitis B vaccination within 24 hours of birth will likely lead to additional infections and millions in added health care costs, new studies show. wapo.st/3QLrZXe

@RealTheoWold "...where blue states are set to lose at least 12 electoral votes, it may become impossible for Democrats to win a House majority."
Then perhaps those Democrat candidates should change their positions to more properly align with the voters?
Scary, I know...
English

Without counting illegal aliens in the census and using race-based redistricting, Democrats would have significantly less seats in Congress.
After the 2030 census, where blue states are set to lose at least 12 electoral votes, it may become impossible for Democrats to win a House majority.
That's why they're freaking out over the Supreme Court correctly interpreting the law.

@CandyCats357 I'd want to know why he didn't up his game and have 50 guns and 20,000 rounds.

Now, about that SAVE America Act....

Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett says she won’t tolerate "disrespect."
"The level of disrespect continuously lobbed against us as black women, you know, for me, I'm like, wait a minute now, I am one of the 535 most powerful people in this country!"
"And for some reason, you think we on the same level, but you're going to disrespect me. Like, it's not going to happen!"
Can somebody call the wahbulance?

@ingelramdecoucy It's all so obvious once they've explained it.

@JudiciaryDems Sorry, no sale.
A larger area doesn't necessarily mean more voters; it means the population density is less.
For example, both areas reflect nearly the same population but vastly different geographic areas.
