@VqltUK you can import any model you want if *you* make a game, otherwise the default player will be used in a large percentage of the games created, and it comes with a dresser component that uses your cosmetics from the main menu. for most developers its easier to use the default

I've been asked the reason for selling multiple times, it's because while I think the game will be a huge success, I ultimately think skins in a sandbox game like this, makes no sense. There is no reason to purchase $1000 skins in a game where you can import any 3d model you want and be whatever you want to be. I'm glad i was able to be one of the first people to support the game financially back in 2024, and I really do hope it succeeds, gmod was my childhood! But the prices that the skins have reached doesn't seem logical to me. That's why i'm out.

I picked this up for $25. I’m curious what will happen when the game launches.

@s8box I can't see gloves in first person. Is pickaxe model a problem? Works fine in sandboxe.

I taught Claude to talk like a caveman to use 75% less tokens. normal claude: ~180 tokens for a web search task caveman claude: ~45 tokens for the same task "I executed the web search tool" = 8 tokens caveman version: "Tool work" = 2 tokens every single grunt swap saves 6-10 tokens. across a FULL task that's 50-100 tokens saved why does it work? caveman claude doesn't explain itself. it does its task first. gives the result. then stops. no "I'd be happy to help you with that." no "Let me search the web for you" no more unnecessary filler words "result. done. me stop." 50-75% burn reduction with usage limits getting tighter every week this might be the most practical hack out there right now

@crummbies @frokfrdk Menus are getting addressed right now. The draw calls are being reduced and they plan on disabling the 3d environments when menus are in front of them.

@OehoeU It's true, I've been making games on s&box for a few years now (dev preview) and the engine is in a really polished state. Can't wait for everyone to start making awesome games!

Garry from Garry’s mod closed a deal with Valve to make a polished version of source2 SDK available to the public. From what I understand, this means ‘regular people’ can create and publish games on Steam using the Source 2 engine, royalty free! (Not april fool’s joke)

and this is why i have LAN only devices. Cloud connected devices require a license that you have to repeatedly agree to over the lifetime of the service. Anything can change. Selfhost on LAN.
