@JHTScherck Are people really asking it the sorta of things that would make sense to track? I feel like everything I use Claude Code for is utilitarian building stuff, not general LLM query still.

Who is building the AEO tool for Claude Code in terminal? Or for coding agents in general? The market wants it and will pay for it.

@JHTScherck @RossHudgens Can't say I'm surprised by that. I wonder if at some point it'll start to personalize just based on IP. Hard to imagine they won't want to - if I try prompting for local contractor recommendations logged out it asks for my city or zipcode.

LLM tracking tools *should* get increasingly cheaper over time as all of these AI tool's compute costs go down. Clearly, the landscape is already hyper-competitive, so that should also drive commoditization. I would not expect the average to stay $300-$500/mo.

@JHTScherck @RossHudgens Is the tool having to juggle IPs to pull it off, or is getting blacklisted / throttled not an issue so far?

@RossHudgens @JHTScherck I wonder if we'll see costs fall, or if it'll be offset by models getting heavier. I feel like most casual ChatGPT or Claude users are always running the latest frontier model, so the most expensive APIs may be more commercially relevant, even as older models get cheaper.

@AustinLMullins @JHTScherck Austin’s point is my guess. Could be totally wrong but I assume as everything AI gets cheaper tools that use AI APIs would also.

@JHTScherck @RossHudgens I think they're basically having to run queries over & over to track prevalence / frequency of brand mentions, so the API costs would be relevant.

@RossHudgens Q: Why does compute cost factor into the cost of a tracking tool that doesn’t require (much or any) inference to process outputs?

@JHTScherck But the answer to the rest is, I haven't encountered much friction because the only AI process I'll allow is very "human-in-the-loop", and we aren't charging any differently for it at this stage (but hope to offer more affordable content repurposing thanks to AI tools).

@JHTScherck The real exception is content briefs - there we've gotten the process down enough I think we'll see efficiencies that unlock some time to apply elsewhere. We're mostly focused on functionality we didn't have before - the ability to create custom images at a reasonable rate, etc.

A few AI+agency things I would like to discuss openly: 1) How much time is it taking your team to edit AI outputs into website ready content? 2) How are you dealing with the friction of writers not wanting to edit AI generated content? 3) How are your charging for this content + compensating editors?

@JHTScherck I see it as absolutely infuriating, as you often can't reject these transfers and it'll keep notifying you. Clear spam / abuse of their system.

Look, if you want to feel intergenerational guilt for funsies, go ahead. But morally speaking, it's ridiculous to demand that people feel it. No one is ever responsible for things that happened before they existed.

@RpsAgainstTrump Fully think this audio could be fake, but damn if "we may not have that many outright nazis in America, but we have plenty of cowards and bootlickers" isn't an accurate statement.

Too early to tell, but I think one of the major contributions OpenAI is making is conditioning users to pay $20/mo for premium consumer software
