@Cognito_OW @vladuhat999 @creepercharge56 They said they talked to all their friends and family, not just a few of them. Polling my family would take at least a week, much less talking to all of my friends about it. and theres no way literally every person he talked to voted the same as him with the same exact reason

@Austin_Aulem @vladuhat999 @creepercharge56 Do you think people didn’t have the ability to ask their family questions before this post dropped or what 💀 Everyone voting red is weird tho but maybe it’s the type of thinking/culture taught in the family

To get an idea of how non-online people answer the button question, I asked my family. My mom said blue, because pushing red buttons is always bad My brother said red, because his favorite color is red

@LowBudgetGod @GamerGaul @8BitBeeno So to reiterate, because theres nearly 9 billion people on earth; you will 100% have at least a billion people press blue and a billion press red So the question is "do you vote to kill 1+ billion people, or vote to save them" Its that simple

Red voters try so desperately to act like: A) Pushing red is the default and pushing blue is a needless choice and B) That pushing red has no correlation at all to the possible death of blues They pretend to be bystanders in what is a 2 choice vote to avoid accountability

@EisenseeleRod @TheWookieDavid @nautica_mori @Prazkat buddy, get rid of your hero complex lmao. Nobody is talking about playing hero, we are discussing the best option in a hypothetical question about a button that magically kills half of humanity lmao. You are clearly lost in the sauce.

@Austin_Aulem @TheWookieDavid @nautica_mori @Prazkat The only way to guarantee 'nobody dies' was red all around. Vanity is the only reason to press blue. If you actually cared about saving lives, you’d be on the ground in Africa, not playing hero on X with a blue button.

Presionas rojo.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@Bumbles01 @DreadedStephy @AncapPigARLZ A more accurate one is There is a button that will launch a nuke. You can choose to not press the button (vote blue), or press the button and kill millions. If less than half of the earth decides not to press the button or 100% choose to press the button, the nukes dont launch

@lovecraftianfr1 @AstralDepthsTR @MoonLL1406 @Wambulogy Except picking red ruins your life. If red wins billions of people die and society collapses. Your life is fucked and theres a huge chance you die in the resulting chaos. Voting blue means none of this happens. Its clearly the correct pick if you dont want to lose your life

I keep seeing folks being like "If EVERYONE picks Red, then everyone survives." But like.. the same is true for everyone picking Blue, right? The majority picking blue prevents ANY death.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@nigrasaurus @LumLotus @KingOfTrident Yup, and if red wins there is mass societal collapse, supply chains fall apart, the internet likely stops functioning, nuclear reactors world wide malfunction, etc due to billions of people spontaneously dying The correct path for survival is to pick blue.

Empathy was never a part of it until someone asked if children, disabled, and people unable to understand the question was involved. A good portion didn't even see that because it wasn't part of the original test.
17thStatesman@17thStatesman

@LumLotus A disturbing number of people are failing this very, very basic test of empathy...

@FrancoAndresMay @Hesamation No its not. Blues premise is "the population of the earth is 8.4 billion, theres no way we get every person to vote red, at least 20-40% will vote blue, so to avoid societal collapse and the death of billions we should all vote blue" That doesnt hold in reverse.

@nigrasaurus @Austin_Aulem @KingOfTrident Same though another thought does anyone take in considering that some of those people who voted blue might have wanted to die? I mean they have medical suicide all the time in Canada. Some of those people could have been terminally ill and unable to get covered to go to Canada.

@LumLotus @nigrasaurus @KingOfTrident Except common sense dictates that because there are 8.4 billion people on earth, there is guarantied to be a large % that votes blue. Even excluding children an such, there will be multiple billion people who die if people vote red. That's just a fact.

@23Reyne @currydtx You dont 100% live if you select red, because society would probably collapse if 4 billion people suddenly die. You could very easily die in the collapse. Picking blue is much safer because nobody dies and society doesnt collapse

@bobs_f @BabyMakersgames @MrBeast 2/2 If red somehow wins I dont want to survive in a world of complete and total societal collapse. Everything we know about the world would be upturned and given the facist tendancies of red voters, the world would probobly be in a worse place for everyone. So I vote blue.

@bobs_f @BabyMakersgames @MrBeast Everyone says this, but yes I would press blue. Theres no reason not to, its the objective right option unless you want to kill people. In a real world scenario there are a minimum of 20% of the population pressing blue, probably at least closer to 40% 1/2

@LumLotus People don't understand the spirit of hypothetical. Introducing a variable which guarantees there are blue button pressers misses the point. Everyone involved in this scenario needs to be making an informed decision. Otherwise the hypothetical is pointless.
