@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster The last decade has been the objective downfall of gaming journalism. And i'll get into what I said you would hate more and you'll prob block me after or call me a bigot or whatever you want; Pushing ideologies, politics and political correctness ect made people lose all trust.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster Somebody who has done a job daily for a decade probably has a better idea of what the job is than the people who have never done that job.

So I gotta ask.. Why do youtubers that do the exact same thing as "game journalists" (but in video form) think they're somehow superior to game journalists? If anything youtubers in general has less education and a way more reasons to outright lie to get liked and easy views.
Luke Stephens@LukeStephens

@LegacyKillaHD I predicted after the preview that this is one that game journalists will loathe. There is zero hand holding and even at the preview event I witnessed several journalists from big outlets getting stuck in the tutorial puzzle for 45 plus minutes...

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster What is wild is that you think a company should serve any other purpose then making money and making money is a direct measure of how good people think you are at what your company does. And let me be clear I don't condone any violence or threats. But it does show the divide

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster You work for a company. If a streamer doesn't get an audience that likes his takes he doesn't get paid.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster Yea and? Have you seen the amount of money youtubers and streamers get from their viewers because they feel connected to them and to their opinions of games?

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster But why? Why do they have to give their shareholders less then before to keep paying people? Might it be that less money is coming in? I understand you are a freelancer but you need to get how a company works. It doesn't care about you as a person it cares about the money.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster And the corporation absolutely *could* afford to pay everybody they laid off. They just would have to give their shareholders a little less to do it, and capitalism just can't allow that.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster See what happens when they can't afford to pay you anymore for your work just like they had to lay of those other people.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster See that's it. You think everything is based on personal bias. I have my bias, you write about your bias, people need to look for their own bias. no, you need to be a neutral source telling a majority of people if the game will be to their liking or not.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster You just want your bias confirmed. I'm sorry I'm not able to do that for you. Sometimes people just like or dislike things even if its the opposite of your personal feelings.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster Because you're a freelancer... but reviews like yours are what turned people away from gaming journalism and guess what happens then...

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster You didn't prove anything. You proved you didn't need to be bought because your opinion of games is exactly what they need to pay others for. And if they are not paid it makes it even worse because it exposes the clear divide between gaming journalists and the average gamer.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster And this is all just goal post moving anyway. You just want to be mad at journalists when you think they're not confirming your personal bias. The original statement is we're paid. I proved we're not. And you started hollering about being out of touch. That's not how this works.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster Because you were supposed to know what the majority of people would like and you didn't. Even now you just keep admitting you don't care about that and that's literally what the majority of people expects from you.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster The game hadn't come out yet when I wrote my review. How, pray tell, does one stroke with a public opinion that doesn't exist yet in an informed way? And why do I have to? "Hey, you think you might not like this? Here's why I liked it" IS informative.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster The second you work for a company you have a responsibility to uphold their name. You write for them. If a majority of people stop reading your reviews because it doesn't stroke with the majority opinion that gives that company a bad name and it loses the trust of its readers.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster The problem here is you saw a review score and assumed I didn't do that because I liked a game that you think the community didn't. I'm not responsible for whether or not you read the rest of the review to see why I gave it the score I did.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster If I play every single Call of Duty title over 16 years, why is my opinion of Call of Duty invalid because it's not the same as yours?

P.@AutixTheCore·
@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster But you should be able to look passed your biases. Sure you don't like it personally, but you understand why the majority does right? You can write from their perspective then right? You write to inform them of what THEY can expect from the game.

@AutixTheCore @MrHooboMaster You know its not zero sum, right? Saying I like things people don't and people like things I don't doesn't mean that's the case for every single instance of everythign in life. I'm not sitting here going "EW Steak is nasty! I only eat broccoli!" because other people like steak.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster And I don't mean this in a bad way, people can like what they want but just because 1 percent of people loves to play old games over new games doesn't make them a good 'gamer' to review new games...

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster I said AVERAGE gamer. Not outlier. You literally admitted to being an outlier since you said 'i like things people don't like, a lot of people like things I don't like.' Okay then don't go do a job where people expect you to like what average gamers like.

@EternalRhage @MrHooboMaster I don't think you do. It's to inform the public! It's so people have something to decide if the next game they buy is worth the money. That's what it's for. If you think it's anything else then that you are wrong and don't understand what journalism is. It's to INFORM.
