The Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran announced that on Friday afternoon, April 17, two female Peshmerga fighters, Neda Miri and Samira Allahyari, were killed in a missile and drone attack carried out by the Iranian regime.
A father and son were also targeted: Shahin Azarbarzin was killed, and his father, Nader, was severely injured.
I extend my condolences to the bereaved families and to the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran.
I strongly condemn these inhumane attacks and call on the United Nations and the Security Council to investigate these crimes.

The remnants of the monarchy are not a matter for Iran’s future, nor do they represent a genuine alternative to the National Council of Resistance of Iran; rather, they constitute a present-day issue that disrupts and complicates the struggle for change. For this reason, the formation of a broad-based popular front that rejects both monarchy and theocratic rule is essential to overthrowing religious fascism.
This “No to Shah, No to Mullahs” front is an inclusive and expansive coalition in which all segments of society can participate. Today, it has already begun to take on significant scope in practice: the people of Iran and the oppressed ethnic groups standing united in opposition to religious fascism with the slogan, “No to Shah, No to Mullahs.”

Onwards to a democratic republic in Iran
“No to Shah-No to Mullahs” front Is essential to overthrowing religious fascism
We envision a future in which, through the overthrow of religious fascism by the Iranian people and their organized resistance, Iran is transformed into a center of peace and stability in the Middle East—one that rejects both the dictatorship of the Shah and the rule of the clerics.
In the wake of the profound developments of the past year, it is my hope that decision-makers will decisively abandon the misguided approaches of the past four decades and avoid any policy direction that perpetuates engagement with the regime while overlooking the Iranian Resistance. #FreeIran10pointplan

The ruling clerical regime in Iran continues its relentless bloodshed.
At dawn this morning, the courageous protester Amir-Ali Mir-Jafari was executed in Tehran.
I strongly condemn the brutal and inhumane execution of Iran’s brave youth that have disturbingly become routine for this regime.
I warn the ruling mullahs and the IRGC: they will be held accountable for this unrestrained violence and murders.
Once again, I call upon the United Nations, relevant international bodies, the European Union, and all human rights organizations to unequivocally condemn these ongoing executions, and to take immediate action to halt this wave of killings and secure the release of political prisoners in Iran.

“TALIS PATER TALIS FILIUS,” as the Romans used to say.
The Son of the Shah, the self-nominated successor to lead Iran, has always claimed to recognize and appreciate the brutal and bloodthirsty methods of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who ruled and oppressed his people with a horrific, all-powerful, and omnipresent secret police force, the infamous #Savak.
His son, Reza Cyrus, has repeatedly declared his intention to seize power and rule in close alliance with “part of the security apparatus” of Iran’s theocratic regime: the Revolutionary Guards #IRGC.
The same ones designated as TERRORISTS by Europe, Italy, and the U.S.
Iran’s future must no longer fall into the hands of the most heinous executioners, otherwise the rivers of blood of the Iranian people—which continue to flood the streets of Iranian cities and our consciences—will have been shed in vain.
Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s deposed dictator, is in Italy.
He represents a dictatorial regime that killed thousands of Iranians, and he wants to obtain power in Iran with the help of foreign powers to continue the same policies pursued by his father. He says he is proud of what his father did. He is on the record to have repeatedly called during past two months on the US and Israel to attack Iran.
His trip to Sweden was not welcomed by members of parliament, but only two. More than one hundred public figures and intellectuals issued a statement opposing the visit because of his dictatorial behavior and continued support for his father’s crimes. Major newspapers also rejected his presence in Sweden in their editorials.
The following are his statements over the past two days:
Press Conference by Reza Pahlavi – Stockholm, April 13, 2026
Question: Did your father ever do anything that you disagreed with?
Answer: I don’t know why you are so fixated on something that happened decades ago… I didn’t come here to talk about events that took place 50 years ago…
Yes, I have this family name, and I am very proud of it—of my background and my heritage. There is a generation that has never even seen my father with their own eyes, yet they have fallen in love with him and with what he did for Iran. When compared to what is happening to Iran today, there are people who tattoo my father’s signature on their arms…
Iran was a country in the region that was a pioneer in many fields. This is a legacy that I proudly represent…
My concern is not what happened 50 years ago. The mindset of Iran today is what matters. The mindset today is to focus on our freedom—we have learned the lessons, we know what we want to avoid, and what was good, and we want to resume that positive path…
Swedish State Television (Agenda Program), Interview with Reza Pahlavi – April 12, 2026
"…Regarding my family background, I am proud of my heritage and I support their actions. When was it that women in Iran had the right to vote? When was it that Iran moved from that level of progress to where it is today? Millions of Iranians have taken to the streets, chanting the name of my grandfather, my father, and my own name, and shouting the slogan: “Long live the Shah.”
Reza Pahlavi’s father’s record - Here are key examples of crimes and human rights violations associated with the rule of Mohammad Reza Shah:
- Systematic torture and repression (documented by Amnesty International):
Political prisoners were subjected to widespread torture by SAVAK (the Shah’s secret police), including beatings, electric shocks, and psychological abuse. Amnesty International repeatedly reported Iran as having one of the worst human rights records in the 1970s.
- Executions and political imprisonment:
Thousands of dissidents from all political tendencies were imprisoned, and many were executed after unfair or summary trials.
- SAVAK surveillance state:
The notorious intelligence service (SAVAK) maintained a pervasive surveillance apparatus, suppressing freedom of speech, press, and assembly, torturing and executing political prisoners. Parivis Sabeti, the second in charge of SAVAK remained Reza Pahlavi’s advisor outside Iran for many years.
- One-party authoritarian system (Rastakhiz Party):
In 1975, the Shah declared a one-party system and forced all citizens to join the Rastakhiz Party. He explicitly stated that those who refused must either go to prison or leave the country—eliminating any form of political pluralism.
- Suppression of democratic institutions:
Parliament (Majles) functioned largely as a rubber stamp, with no real independence. Elections were neither free nor fair, and opposition parties were effectively banned.
- Dependence on foreign powers (1953 coup):
The Shah’s return to power after being temporarily removed was facilitated by the CIA and MI6 in the 1953 coup against Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh—undermining Iran’s democratic process.
- Dynastic legacy tied to foreign intervention:
Reza Pahlavi’s grandfather, Reza Shah, came to power with British backing and was later forced to abdicate during World War II by Allied powers because he sided with Hitler—reinforcing perceptions of foreign dependence in the dynasty.
- Mass killings and repression of protests (e.g., Black Friday 1978):
Military forces opened fire on unarmed protesters, resulting in mass casualties and further delegitimizing the regime.
- Economic inequality and corruption:
Despite significant oil wealth, there was widespread inequality, elite corruption, and concentration of wealth around the royal court, while many ordinary people lived in poverty.
- Current political stance (controversial):
Critics argue that Reza Pahlavi, by advocating stronger foreign pressure—including support from the U.S. and Israel—reflects a continuation of reliance on external powers, which has historically been a sensitive and controversial issue among Iranians.

We strongly condemn the brutal execution of Hamed Validi and Nima Shahi by the Iranian regime this morning.
Hamed Validi, a 45-year-old civil engineer, and Nima Shahi, a 38-year-old technical worker, were arrested in Tehran on May 13, 2025, along with their relatives, and subjected to interrogation and torture.
We call on @kajakallas @EP_President @EP_HumanRights @Europarl_EN and EU member states to take urgent action to stop the ongoing wave of executions in Iran and hold the perpetrators accountable.
Both were PMOI members.
Your silence emboldens the regime.
