@ashoKumar89 The simplest way to do this is views. Table views on what you want to have on demand, then fetch on demand.

When YouTube says: “4.3M people watched this video today” Are they storing every single view in database? Or is there a better way?

Yesterday I was vibe coding a critical feature, it works but not WAD. I already knew what was wrong but I decided to let AI fix it. Threw the problem at it, over and over again it kept bringing the wrong diagnosis. I just undid the changes, then specify which files and code lines had the issue, basically a caveman approach. All he did was to do directly and fix. One question I had was if I wasn’t experienced, I’d burn more tokens and still wouldn’t get the solution right.

Nobody wants to admit it but "vibecoding" works until your app has actual users. Then you discover what senior engineers have been getting paid for.

The South America has 12 countries; Argentina (Buenos Aires) Bolivia (Sucre / La Paz) Brazil (Brasília) Chile (Santiago) Colombia (Bogotá) Ecuador (Quito) Guyana (Georgetown) Paraguay (Asunción) Peru (Lima) Suriname (Paramaribo) Uruguay (Montevideo) Venezuela (Caracas) Why is ARGENTINA the only country without a black player in their national team? Do we have blacks in Argentina?

@RadFemme74 @ZacksJerryRig You think? Imagine you’re an engineer do the most difficult task, don’t you think you’d want to know all the problems that might arise? First the problem here is for the material and embedding engineers, I’d know that they should understand what needs to be done right

You know the reason your Stanley or Hydroflask is so good at keeping your water cold is because there's a vacuum inside the walls of the thermos. Heat can't conduct in a vaccum. And "radiated" heat is ineffective at the temperatures processors operate at. This satellite will be like plugging in your gaming PC without a CPU cooler. It'll be dead in minutes.
Vaibhav Sisinty@VaibhavSisinty

Okay this is genuinely insane. SpaceX just unveiled a satellite whose only job is to run AI. Not internet. Not GPS. Just compute, floating in orbit. It's called AI1, and the reason behind it breaks your brain. AI data centers on Earth are hitting a wall, not a chip wall, a physics wall. They need staggering amounts of power and water just to stay cool, and we're running out of grid and land to build them. So Musk's answer is: stop building them on Earth. In orbit, the sun never sets. Free power, 24/7. No water for cooling, you just radiate heat into the vacuum of space. The two things choking AI on the ground barely exist up there. And here's the wild part: Musk says it's easier to build than a Starlink satellite. Strip out the complex antennas and it's "a lot of solar cells, a radiator, and some laser links." One AI1 carries the compute of an Nvidia GB300 rack, the same hardware data centers fight over down here. AI1 is just the first one. The plan is a constellation of up to a million of them. And the timing isn't an accident, SpaceX goes public this week at a ~$1.75 trillion target. This isn't a rocket company anymore. It's positioning itself as the power grid for AI, in space. The race for AI compute just left the planet. Literally. @SpaceX

I’d start with the basic, key terms in system design, understanding why it’s not a one shoe fits all, then the key components of the system and why some should be kept and some removed. Finally, we don’t talk about code at all, we add flow/sequence diagram instead. If we are generous, maybe add database schema.
Puneet Patwari@system_monarch

@BREGOH Okay. I understand. Any suggestions on what I should add to make it more comprehensive?

I've been a backend Engineer for 12+ years. Today, I'm a Principal Engineer at Atlassian. I've designed systems that handle millions of requests. Sat on both sides of system design interviews. Reviewed more architecture docs than I can count. Starting today, I'm breaking down the fundamentals of scaling for the next 25 days. If you're learning system design bookmark this thread, you're going to get a lot of learning from this.

Been using AI extensively since this year January because company made it mandatory. I can still write code, debug and understand what code is doing. Only difference is the speed in execution. The only people who will suffer are those that don’t understand software engineering, who thinks it’s about writing code.

Lately been sitting next to a guy on my train journey. Every morning he opens up his laptop, fires up VS Code and for the entirety of the 45min journey, writes lines and lines of code by hand. No autocomplete, no AI. Every line typed out by hand. If this all turns out to have been a mistake, this guy is going to end up a trillionaire when everyone else’s skill has atrophied and he’s the only one left who can write code

@BREGOH @islemonjuice Data has nothing to do with what I just told you, if you want the real data go to their business environment and ask how they do business . A lot of you have misconception about the Igbo’s and it come mostly from a place of ignorance. Any small thing Igbo’s don’t trust each other
