What if I told you it was a single report of a disgruntled teammate that caused it? The premise is the exact same and I think you're realizing that. You should either be forced to lock in picks that your teammates are okay with (team sport after all) or you should have total agency over your own pick. There are certain ELO's where Leona Jungle's winrate is only 3% lower than Master Yi Jungle's winrate btw.

What's INTERESTING is that I just got a Lobby Terminated and a 15 minute queue lockout for locking in Leona Jungle. I did not speak a word. It's curious -- so my teammates are allowed to determine what champion I play but not the other way around? 🤔 Defend this.

@i0ki_LoL It's an automated system, if you make a ticket, you can get the restrictions lifted, probably takes longer than 15 minutes though. Fun fact, if you take cleanse on nunu, or smite on yuumi, you will get an automated ban, but you can appeal it.

This upset a lot of people. "If you ban my champion I'm going to troll!" If you're willing to throw the game over not being able to play 1 champion, you would have found a reason to throw anyways because you're a manchild. "Wouldn't you rather them play their OTP?" Learn a new champion, one that is useful. This is Ranked. "Then I'll just ban your champion too!" That's okay, it's your Ban vote. Spend it how you like. "Why not just let people play what they want to!" The same reason we don't let toddlers eat icecream for every meal. It's not good for them. "Why do YOU get to decide if they can play their champ?" Because I get 1 Ban vote, just like everyone else. Every other hero/champ-based competitive game allows you to ban champions even if your teammates want to play them. That's part of being a competitive game. Sometimes there's a 70% winrate champ and the enemy has first pick -- you shouldn't be disallowed from removing it from the game just because L9MISTERFISTER wants to play it and might waste 40 of his own minutes if he doesn't get to. The problem is that we've bent over backwards trying to appease the whims and temper tantrums of emotionally stunted League losers. You should be able to ban your teammate's hover.

@i0ki_LoL @D3rpsgamer When I play rivals my team bans my gambit pick a lot of games, but I understand it. Even if I do lock it in, and play it well, now it's on the enemy team too.

Here's some common ground -- I think the 4fun game modes such as Normals you should be able to play whatever you want. Ranked is for optimizing chances of winning, and I think being allowed to ban certain champions (as it was for 98% of the game's lifespan and in every other competitive game) has merit.

Starting with patch 26.07, Riot has decided to launch a second-chance program. As a result, all accounts that have been permanently banned for more than 5 years will be unbanned, except players who used a third-party tool.

@soigomaa I don't even have an education and make more than that. People just don't want the jobs that actually pay well. Go apply to some warehouses and get a forklift certification, while you're on the clock getting paid.

Gen Z might be the only generation that needs a degree, a portfolio, 3 internships, and a side hustle just to get ghosted by jobs paying $17/hr

Patch 25.23 Preview! Apologies for the late preview, was on a plane! Hope you all enjoyed Worlds and the games, getting Silver Scrapes in the finals was such a treat. I'll write up some of my thoughts later this week. Zaahen - Zaahen will also go Live this patch! Hope you're all excited!! - We wanted to have many throwbacks and homages to Xin Zhao throughout his kit, while also giving him that Darkin flair (eg. vamping, lifesteal and revive?!) - Interestingly, Zaahen started out as a support! But after some testing, we pivoted him to Top lane as it would allow him to better execute on his power fantasy - We think the revive this time will be better balanceable as the "on demand" nature of previous revives was typically what made them problematic to balance and he does have to either fight for a long time or land a lot of multi-hits to trigger it, which if he's doing that, we think is probably deserved - The team really cooked, we're so excited for him - I'll add a few more thoughts and behind the scenes insights tomorrow Alternate Junglers - This patch, we're looking at a lot of novelty oriented changes around adding new champs into the jungle (and some old ones) - Many regions suffer from high jungle autofill rates and being able to play your mains when you're autofilled we think is overall net positive - Some of these changes are more experimental (we're trying Fizz in the jungle for example), but will be monitoring closely to see how they shake out Mel - Thanks to Faker for raising visibility on Mel, we're making some relatively power neutral adjustments that move power out of some of her high frustration and lower counterplay builds (eg. E max) into other places with higher counterplay and interactivity (eg. Passive) - The E max build in particular is pretty fire and forget and is looking quite a bit stronger than Q max in many situations - This is relatively unintuitive to players and lower gameplay, so we're making adjustments to it Mundo - Recently, the team found a quite impactful bug where Mundo was getting max damage at 30% missing health instead of 70% missing health - While it didn't result in a change in his winrates overall (he was still balanced around this), it did change his overall power budget, so the damage is being adjusted back up to compensate - Despite his recent rise to fame in several series' 🙃, we still think he's overall pretty balanced, but just has pretty sharp success/failure cases which seems OK for now (might re-consider later) Vlad - As one of the beneficiaries of the sustain nerfs in previous patches, Vlad has benefited quite a bit, so we're tapping him down a bit and making him more vulnerable in top lane especially
