The tough work our team does, and the follow up care afterwards of supporting folks to hopefully then make the choice to attempt detox and treatment. One team member said yesterday, “why have we allowed this to happen?” No one should be entrenched into a cycle of homelesssnes with substance abuse as a way to cope the harsh realities. Housing and detox should always be accessible. If they were accessible, with timely access, we would not be seeing this type of crises playing out on our streets. That’s why our team is out there. Doing the hard work that saves lives. Then the follow up care to help prevent more loss of life.

These two men, Team Lead Garth and our volunteer Marvin, helped save 4 people tonight by administering Naloxone and first aid while we waited for EMS to arrive.
