So, the Contract for the Red Line/University Road was the actual problem. It has now been “rewarded” to FWO on an emergency basis.
Now we know why there was a sudden rise of intensity & attacks wrt university road, lead by Geo and ARY
It also tells us why SSGC decided to lay new pipelines some time after the project was on its way. Then the K4 project woke up years after the roads were already dug up to start the water pipes work as the project was near completion as far as digging was concerned.
Reportedly, parts of the University Road project also needed “entry & exit modifications” that could only be finally approved by one institute.
Both Sui Gas & K4 are under Federal control. Many main roads as well as residential streets have been dug up recently for Gas & Water lines and left in a state of disrepair.
This is nothing new to the Karachiites. The law and order situation deteriorates every time the Rangers contract is about to expire and things magically return to normal once it is renewed
Now the noise will reduce and Geo/ARY will stop barking. Social media bullies will go back to praising FWO.
So for the sake of a contract, FWO & the Federal government ensured that the Red Line University Road project that is mostly in Karachi Central remained delayed and suspended for years.
Same folks who caused these delays also gifted us Imran Khan, MQM, IJI, TLP, LeJ in the past.
So while Shahrah e Bhutto was made in good time & other projects were completed, the main Red Line project was deliberately delayed & undermined.
Same thing happened with Karachi’s drainage lanes. JI & MQM illegally sold off land in & around Gujjar Nala leading to parts of Karachi’s South drowning during record rains in 2020 & 2022.
FWO was “awarded” the contract for “clearing” the drains as well.
