5/5 What is the state we induce by injecting 5-MeO-DMT? The highly unusual features of the state induced by the psychedelic 5-MeO DMT in mice lead us to dub it “paradoxical wakefulness”, as it was a hybrid state, precisely opposite to the characteristics of paradoxical sleep.

4/5 So, we analysed the wake EEG spectra after 5-MeO-DMT. We found: > a suppression of the EEG theta frequency activity > an increase in the EEG slow wave activity
