Jedes sozialistische System vollzieht diesen Wandel, es war in der DDR nicht anders: Das Gewaltmonopol des Staates wird zunehmend zur Machtstabilisierung und nicht mehr zur Bekämpfung von Kriminalität eingesetzt.

Back in 2018, we were a group of 20+ high-skilled young inmigrant engineers working in a major aerospace company in Germany. Today, no single one of them remains in Germany anymore. It started just noticing how people around us were too relaxed at work. Working kinda few hours, lack of ambition, strange promotion policies, feeling slow on every single task that we attempted to carry out… Then COVID hit: homeoffice fully allowed (except for production people). Certain people just dissapeared, fully unavailable no mater how and when you tried to reach them. Production workers who couldnt work from home now felt like having less support from engineering… Consequences started arriving right away: less promotions, less interns, less internal mobility, work absentism statistics not being published anymore. Symptoms that something was not okay. Zero reactions from the managers of the native germans. Then the company just started bleeding out: since they cant fire anybody, they started by just not renovating any of the “temporary” COVID contracts. The problem is many of them were the newest, most hard-working, most motivated people in the company. They kept the dinosaurs. The company started spiraling out of control. No new contracts in the next years, no new opportunities, people loosing hope, watching their lives passing by, eventually just decides to leave themselves and return to their countries. The problem in Germany is that top 5% performers in their local countries, only manage to reach an AVERAGE german lifestyle when moving to germany. For many, that is just not worth the sacrifice of immigrating and going through the cultural/familiar shock. Germany has indeed reached a very respectable welness level, but I really don’t expect them progressing much further in the next 10-15 years

I loved Germany so much the first time I lived there that I told my ex I wanted to go back someday. I went back ten years later. My accountant took 6 months to file one form, then fired me for asking why. The tax office couldn't find my own file. The economy has been shrinking for years and 24,000 companies went bankrupt last year. And somehow you're still not allowed to say the system isn't working. I wrote about what I think went wrong. 🇧🇷 My friend booked a very nice upscale hotel in Rio de Janeiro But to pay for the booking online they required to enter a Brazilian taxpayer number (CPF), so he called them and said he doesn't have a CPF No problem they said, they'll sent a new payment form without CPF where foreigners can enter their passport This payment for required a Brazilian phone number though The catch-22? To get a Brazilian phone number you need a CPF number! And recently the Brazilian government made it much harder for foreigners to get that, in my case I had to physically visit the Brazilian embassy in Lisbon and wait for an hour to get my CPF So he had to physically go there to pay Brazil really needs to fix this stuff or it's never going to get more tourists because it's so hard to pay for things here! And it's not just hotels! Because in everything else Brazil is so hospitable and inviting to gringos PLEASE FIX THIS BRAZIL!
