Pete Hegseth credentialed a MAGA media "press corps" last fall after traditional news outlets rejected new press pass rules that media lawyers said criminalized routine reporting. The MAGA crew does relatively little reporting, so most coverage of the US military is now happening from outside the Pentagon's five walls. Journalists from some traditional outlets were allowed to attend this morning's press conference with Hegseth and Gen. Dan Caine. But Hegseth only answered Q's from his chosen outlets. I'm told he had a pre-selected list of questioners, and all the reporters were in assigned seats, so he knew who to call on. When NBC's Courtney Kube tried to get a question in anyway and said, "President Trump put a four-week timeline on it — are you saying that is wrong?," Hegseth dismissed it as a "typical NBC sort of 'gotcha' type question."

@whobetter2023 @Alsboringtweets And blue cities get a lot of financial help because a) their states create more wealth with higher taxes, thus higher payouts and b) their city/state govts put value on education Again, the worst states for education are all Red states. Partly financial. Mostly values & mindset

I guess when I think of "bubble," I think of something that is ignorant of the world around them I think cities are more aware of the world b/c they are made up of the world. Where small towns are very homogeneous, thus don't understand the needs of the whole

@BigMikeCBS @Alsboringtweets I love the city by the way for all of the diverse reasons you mentioned. But having lived through the last few elections where my surroundings indicated a blowout of epic proportions when I was never even close to being in the case nationwide
