THE COUNCIL CHALLENGE DAY 21 The green paint turns towards the CBD, but straight ahead leads to a popular commuter bike path in Fitzroy Nth in @YarraCouncil. Why is parking prioritised over safety? PREDICTION: In the future, on-street parking will clash with active transport.

@OrAdaptation @HeathRyan16 @CityofDarebin All submissions (spots, comments and likes) have been factored into the top spot maps found in the report. Submissions at locations that share the same sentiment have been combined.

@HeathRyan16 @CityofDarebin Agreed! Have you had a look at the @BikeSpotProject data this year? I think there's plenty of sore spots to check out. One failing is they don't seem to have factored in their own 'likes' function into results- where there's agreement but no additional data point created.

Think protected bike infrastructure doesn’t make a huge difference? I’m an experienced & confident bike rider, & there’s no way I would bike Toronto’s Danforth Ave in this”before” scenario. I would take my little boy into the “after” scenario. Via @mkapral twitter.com/mkapral/status…

If walking costs you $1, we all pay $0.01. If biking costs you $1, we all pay $0.08. If bussing costs you $1, we all pay $1.50. If driving costs you $1, we all pay $9.20. Via @thediscourse study. This isn’t just about choice. It’s about who pays for the choice. #citymakingmath

Construction on our new bike lanes has started in Carlton & East Melbourne on Drummond, Faraday & Albert Streets 🚲 each separator used in the project will utilise 15-30kg of recycled glass. It’s all part of our plan to fast-track 40km of new bike lanes melbourne.vic.gov.au/news-and-media…
