The Praia Bitcoin, @Bitcoinize, and @BitcoinConfed Sunset
From September 2021 to February 2026, Praia Bitcoin worked to create the first Bitcoin circular economy in Brazil. In 2023, we developed the Bitcoinize Machine and became the first community to combine point-of-sale systems with @bolt_card, @btcpayserver, and @lnbits. Since 2024, we organized the industry through the Bitcoin Economy Confederation directory, creating a network of circular economies and providing them with visibility, coordination, and shared resources.
Due to recent changes to Bitcoin's source code that transformed the Bitcoin blockchain into a hosting database for arbitrary data—representing countless social and legal risks for Bitcoin circular economy founders and node operators— we have decided to cease operations as a direct signal to @bitcoincoreorg developers that these changes are unacceptable.
The websites will remain operational throughout 2026 as historical records and resources, but there are no further plans to continue the Confederation's, Bitcoinize's or Praia Bitcoin's endeavors. Since these protocol changes cannot be reversed, the risks to node operators and community founders will persist indefinitely.
We will be closing our community center until April, and all donations collected for our 2026 operations will be transferred to active projects on @GeyserFund and other worthy initiatives in the Bitcoin circular economy space, mainly @orphansofuganda
A Warning to the Community Leaders:
Because of these emerging undesirable narratives and technical realities, we strongly recommend extreme caution before doxxing yourself in association with Bitcoin—especially in remote areas and developing nations.
Node operators and community founders are now exposed to numerous social, legal, and non-technical risks that can destroy a reputation overnight, undermining years of careful community building. This exposure exists because a small group of developers have prioritized features that fundamentally compromise the protocol's original purpose and the safety of those building Bitcoin circular economies worldwide.
The Path Forward:
We have come to recognize a fundamental truth: the future of Bitcoin circular economies lies not in centralized organizations, but in organic, independent growth. Each community must build its own resilient economic ecosystem, learning from others while remaining truly sovereign and self-sustaining. This decentralized approach honors Bitcoin's original ethos far better than any confederation ever could.
We thank all the communities, donors, and supporters who believed in this vision. Your work continues to matter, even as we close this chapter.

“Spend as soon as possible” works like magic, we are lucky to have already bought the school and brought construction to almost completion at Starlight Elementary School!
We of course have effect on the budget but it could have been worse, about 85% of the major construction & spending is done ✅
We are now painting 🖼️

Bear markets are hard for communities. As a community leader, I always say: during bear periods, spend as fast as possible. We should never convert to dollars, fiat, or stablecoins, because every conversion we do is a vote for the legacy system we’re supposed to replace. How many months does your forecast spreadsheet cover? What do you need to accomplish in the next 24 months? 99% of vendors and founders aren’t ready to hold through the crash. They have no option; they look for fiat. Since we can’t, my suggestion is to make upfront payments as soon as you get donations or make sure you’re ready to cut expenses as the price crashes.

As the markets for Bitcoin Payments are very very small, we are considering to become a Non-Profit organization before to run the next campaign on @geyserfund, all or nothing, with huge goals.
To build a new device, we need make a Minimum Order of 2000 machines , a new motherboard to support eSIM, frontal camera and New OS costing today around 3 BTC
After, building it we are thinking to allow the factory make direct sells instead being the middleman, to drop the price of the machine.
Anyway, now we are just thinking, nothing is defined yet, we are even considering shutdown our operation because it isn't sustainable yet.

Over the past years, we have worked tirelessly to protect, keep, and care for orphaned children, giving them a place to feel safe, loved, and hopeful despite the difficult circumstances they were born into. What we have achieved so far is not small. We have provided daily meals, shelter, basic healthcare, emotional support, and education for many children who would otherwise be left without care. Several of our children have successfully completed primary education, and others are now in secondary schools. Beyond education, we have raised these children as a family—teaching values, discipline, responsibility, and hope for a better future. However, this journey has come with serious challenges. We struggle with limited financial support, lack of permanent shelter, school fees for children advancing to higher levels, medical care, clothing. Caring for many children without steady donors means every day requires sacrifice, faith, and commitment. Still, we endure because these children depend on us. We also ask an important question: if we had done nothing, what would have happened to these children? Many would be exposed to hunger, homelessness, abuse, child labor, or complete loss of education and dignity. The care they receive today has protected them from a life of uncertainty and suffering. Now, we invite your ideas, thoughts, and support. What more do you think should be done for these children? How can we improve their lives, education, health, and future opportunities?
