Decisions by council must be based on community needs, community benefit and community support. There is no need, benefit or support for an Irish Language School in this area. It was therefore imperative to properly consult and engage with residents living within the vicinity of the school. The inexcusable failure to do that means people have organised it themselves. At planning, Linda Ervine claimed the community in Clonduff were “very happy” and had “no issue.” Tonight, that assessment will be put to the test.
