Athletic trainers don’t get an offseason and they rarely get a break. While others reset, they’re still showing up, putting athletes first every single day. Too often, “they get lost in the sauce.” @WacoISD is changing that by scheduling meetings, staying connected, and making sure their trainers are seen, supported, and valued. Because supporting those who care for athletes isn’t optional, it’s necessary.

ATs are a lot like barbers or bartenders. We hear everything. Athletes unload their thoughts, frustrations, & struggles- they trust us. Sometimes the most important thing we can do isn’t tape an ankle or rehab an injury. It’s listen. Because sometimes…we’re their lifeline.

If you’re up early tomorrow morning, March 6, you might spot athletic trainers front and center on the plaza outside the Today Show! For more than a decade athletic trainers have made the trek to New York City during National Athletic Training Month to raise awareness about the profession, connect with students and colleagues and show the world who ATs really are. From standing in the cold at 2:30 a.m. to talking to folks in line, this tradition helps people put faces to the profession and learn what athletic trainers do beyond the sidelines. This year’s event continues that legacy of passion, community and visibility – reminding everyone that athletic trainers aren’t just there for injuries but for education, advocacy and connection too. Celebrate #NATM2026 and the many ways athletic trainers bring care, expertise and community to life.
