Playing The Cranberries Zombie on repeat unfortunately it's too relevant for the current times. We should make it go viral as a peaceful protest

Why is the Co-op so expensive? What does it think it’s got going for it?

@sspencerukk I definitely find it more reasonable for the basic foods. Sure you can make things expensive but its cheaper for basics compared to other supermarkets and like of Heron etc

@lincolncouncil Is there a way to potentially intercept a bin? Highways bin on Monks road that might potentially have my dad's wedding ring in today 18/02 ? He's gone to see if he can find it and believes it may have fallen into the bin! It holds huge sentimental value

@autcareandshare That's lovely of them I think because of the current times they often think only one person is eating because of costs and Ryan getting a meal would be your priority. It's lovely that they noticed and were kind instead of trying to be forceful with you ordering

REBECCA UPDATE I’ll say this right out loud: Rebecca’s illness really messes with my head. The past two days were just damn awful. I honestly didn’t know if she was dying or if I should rush her to the hospital. I felt completely clueless about what the right thing was for her — and that’s a terrifying place to be when you love someone this much. When she slept for hours without moving and then didn’t know who I was, and a whole lot more— that scared me enough to finally call Hospice — a team we’d already met with twice before. That moment felt heavy and final. But then, last night, something shifted. I crawled into bed around 7, and she woke up a bit. Not a lot — but noticeably more coherent than she’d been in days. That gave me a small sense of relief. I still barely slept. Maybe three hours. So in four days, I’ve had about nine hours of sleep total. I have never experienced this. I can feel myself getting foggy, worn down, and a bit confused at times. The nurse yesterday said right out loud in the beginning that I was suffering from caregiver burnout. 🤷‍♂️ But this morning, she surprised me again. She knew who I was. She was able to drink a nutritional shake. For a brief moment, I started questioning everything. Did I jump the gun with hospice? Was she just exhausted? Was it a bad reaction to her meds? And then reality showed up again. She suddenly became agitated — she had to go to the bathroom—#2. Getting her out of bed and onto the toilet was painful and stressful for her and me and that stress sent everything off the rails. The tremors exploded. The fear. The agitation. For those moments, she slipped right back into that psychotic space that terrifies both of us. Once I got her back into bed, she slowly calmed down again. That’s the pattern now. Any stress. Any overstimulation. Anything physical. It all sets her off. And in her condition, helping her is incredibly hard — she has very little ability to help me help her. I’m praying hospice was the right decision. There is some relief — nurses, social workers, caregiver counseling, aides who come by — and I’m grateful for that. But the truth is, I’m still the primary caregiver. Still here 24/7. Because Rebecca and I don’t have family here in Orlando, we don’t have that built-in support system most people rely on. Hospice works beautifully when there are others to share the load. When it’s just one person… it’s different. So I’m learning. In real time. And I’m starting to think it may be smart to look into caregiver services like Visiting Angels — just to get a few hours here and there. Time to go to my own doctor. Time to take the dogs to the vet. Or honestly, time to rest. This isn’t giving up. It’s adjusting. Still figuring this out. One day at a time.

Does anyone else remember the Argos blue alien Christmas adverts from about 10 years ago? Where there's a family of blue aliens and the Dad got more and more stressed as the days went on? Everyone looks at me like I've lost the plot, so I'm wondering if I imagined it all...

Some good news! My chest drain was removed this morning! Here's part of what was in my chest. Little wonder I had lots of pain. My lung is still healing, so I still have to keep an eye on things, but it's one less tube. Quality of life has already gone up!
