A neighbour and his wife once gave me a ride. On our way, the man spotted a young guy in the area, a student heading back to school. He stopped, the boy greeted him, and without hesitation, he counted out ₦30,000 and gave it to him as support.
Immediately, I noticed his wife’s mood change. She went quiet for the rest of the journey and didn’t say a word until I got down.
The next morning, my neighbour told me what happened when they got home. His wife walked straight inside and came out with a list—rice, beans, and a few personal items. He was confused and reminded her that they had just stocked the kitchen the previous week.
Her response?
“Since you have money to throw around, go and use this one to buy these again.”
It just left me wondering… why do situations like this happen?
