@likejaggeruk Yes we finally managed to stop the work - the residents had to physically stop the workmen. Public realm officer finally agreed to hold off the work. We are now waiting on when they will reinstate the pavement like-for-like. We demand conservation officer’s presence.

This is cultural vandalism and should be illegal. Stop ruining our surroundings and making everything ugly. The decline in standards of the built environment is in direct correlation to people's mental health problems.

@BoundaryTra @TowerHamletsNow Had the tree roots lifted the paving? If so the council employ people to inspect the roots, decide if they can be cut and then the slabs can be relaid. They will cite public safety at every opportunity, it's their get out.
