@Vinncent Teaching Modern Asia, I struggled to find a reading for students that really captures the reality of the US' role in (anti-)decolonization. Even after the SEA module, this book keeps on giving. All I need to say when discussing Mossadegh is "Remember the Jakarta Method?" So good.

I can't think of a more perfect illustration of how broken American democracy is, than the fact that for the first time ever it's basically 100% certain who both parties' nominees are before the first primary, even though they're two of the most unpopular candidates in history.

Every once in a while, the actual rules of the liberal international order become terrifyingly clear. This shocks people of good conscience in the First World, while billions of others, who do not have the luxury of this ignorance, see awful confirmation of what they already know
