@Genetics56 Odds you would give that in 2035, 10 years later, looking back Texas (and possibly UNC) regret choosing regional SEC over national B1G, and vice versus, and why?
Will it even matter which side a university is on if the two P2 leagues (B1G & SEC) merge into one elite federation?
English

Technically, no. Texas chose the SEC. I was told the reasons why a couple of months ago.

@Genetics56 Tell me Im wrong please…is it true the Big 10 turned down Texas?

@tricknole @Genetics56 NC doesn’t want BC, Syracuse, WF and GT to become the next WA St/OR St without a conference. Remember UNC is a founding member of the ACC, is synonymous with the ACC and the ACC is headquartered in Charlotte. The State of NC gives tens of millions in tax breaks to the ACC conf.

@BoxLaxRocks @Genetics56 Why does the unc bog care about non-nc state schools like cuse, gt, wake, bc?
English

The NC BOG wants what is best for all of the NC schools (WF, UNC, Duke, NC ST) and keep the ACC alive. NC BOG isn't looking to find the best landing spot for UNC.
So I will need to model ECU as an ACC expansion option with USF, Memphis, and Tulane.

@Genetics56 What do you interpret that to mean exactly?
English

@Genetics56 What are the odds you would give to seeing?
B1G
19: FSU
20: Clemson
21: UNC
22: + Duke
23: Notre Dame
24: + Stanford
This would leave: UVA, Miami, Georgia Tech & Cal on the outside looking in.

@Genetics56 High school football games are played on Thursday or Saturday nights now in Wisconsin due to the Officials shortage. The Officials shortage is only getting worse each season, which means we will likely see more weekday high school football games in the near future.
English

fwiw, high schools play more games on Thursdays these days than ever before. When I was in high school a Thursday night game was only done because you had to share a field with another school. These days I can bring up a statewide schedule for the first weekend of high school football and see dozens of games being played.
