New Zealand could be losing its nerve over border changes.

Cabinet will review latest advice on Omicron in early January to allow time to make changes to opening the border up with Australia on the 17th if needed. Currently the plan is for 7 days self-isolation being allowed on return from Australia.

@ReconnectAust It’s wild how at the 80-89% vaccination rates, the states differ so much on whether 7 or 14 days quarantine is required. Where do they get their info? Why can NT ask for 7 while QLD asks for 14? 😵💫

@EstherRockett Exactly what I’m doing! Not ideal, but there’s no way you’ll catch me doing a solo lockdown for two WEEKS mid summer… I’d have begrudgingly accepted 7 days, but 14? Nah. Sydney can have my company for that time.

So yeah #strandedAussies #loveisnottourism #InternationalStudentsAustralia. Forget landing in Qld from abroad. More economical and fun to fly into NSW or Vic & take a holiday for 14 days than arrive in Qld & go into user-pays detention. No quarantine for interstate travel

@MartySilkHack Hmm, okay followup question. If you spent say, 10 days in another state and then wanted to travel to QLD. Would you have to home quarantine for a full 14 days, or just a final 4 days to bring you to 14 days in-country?
