Just a reminder on the back of another scintillating performance from Lewis Hall. He admitted himself that he wasn’t ready for the first team and needed help to find his true game. Eddie Howe worked with him for 10 months until he was ready. We have a special coach.

Birmingham vs Bristol City on Saturday just gone. Only English football fans could make a chant up involving a pigeon on the pitch. Even the substitues are laughing.🤣🤣🤣

Take away he backwards and sideways passing between the defence this season and our ball retention is absolutely awful.... Our players either can't pass to one another, pass it to early or to late, don't drive forward with the ball... Its infuriating to watch..

@sinicols Our squad is based on athleticism and not technique, with a few notable exceptions. When we are on it and confident, it’s great fun…when we’re not, well we get what we have now

Several times yesterday a simple pass was on, or the chance to burst into space and it was fucked up... I'm at the stage now where I'm questioning if its confidence or if they are just shite..

@DickoNortheast I thought the same thing. When it was 1-1 with 15 to go…what is wrong if he isn’t even in the mix at that point?

Said the same last week but I simply refuse to slag Howe off Today though, simple wasn’t good enough. Players not fussed, not playing for him, not caring. 2 CF’s sitting on the bench when we were desperate for a goal, a win, some momentum, some life Something has got to give

Thank god we got those wins against Spurs and MU. I can’t see us getting another one this season the way we are playing. Fingers crossed that Spurs don’t go on a run eh….

@davidpick1987 Absolutely nothing. What the hell have Wissa and Woltemade got to do to get a start in this current team is beyond me

@Bullyboy1972 Whether he is or not, it’s on the players to show they care about him with their actions and I’m seeing zero.

That first half is not a team playing to help a manager.

@MattW36565526 I also don’t think any manager will hit that endorphin rush of peak EH either. It was a new (or rekindled for us mature students) feeling that will be hard to replicate whoever comes in. It’s one hell of a job for someone to do this summer…EH or anyone else

I've got no issue with people who want Eddie to go, but I do hope people are ready for the fact regardless who we hire, it is likely to be a difficult next year or two, I think this season, with what we have spent, has fucked us royally, next season will be repairing that damage.

I’m an Eddie Howe fan. I deem him our best manager of my lifetime and as a person I think if more people were like him, the world would be a better place. But you’re blind if you can’t see an obvious and (hopefully) natural and respectful end to his tenure in May.

@SkySports_Keith @GJ_1892 Ramsey is OK and was a decent buy, same with Thiaw. Woltemade for me, is sellable. We will lose £ but not irretrievable. Wissa…absolute disaster. It’s not insurmountable but it isn’t great.

The more you think about last summer’s transfer window, the more it has killed Newcastle’s season - and will also hamstring them in future windows. £222m worth of talent signed last summer (4 players) on the bench today, only getting a handful of minutes between them. If even two of them had been an immediate success (like Isak, Bruno G, Trippier, Burn etc were) #NUFC would be in a much stronger position and IMO in European places. In addition to the psychological problems when they go in front (25 point dropped from winning positions), it feels like there’s a real issue with staleness in the team. You can get away with one big-money signing not working out…but not 4 in one window. (NB. I think Ramsey is a player btw, but he’s not played enough due to injury).
Craig Hope@CraigHope_DM

💰 Eddie Howe when asked why £124m strikeforce Nick Woltemade & Yoane Wissa again started on the bench 🗣️ "I don't pick the team based on transfer fees. I have to pick the team based on what I see. I thought Will Osula was training well and deserved to start. I thought he played well. He took his goal well. He's got the physical attributes, the determination to do really well."

@JakeJackmann Spot on. I’m genuinely gutted because I will always respect EH and he will get another top coaching job. Managers have a lifecycle at a club though and it feels as though EH is coming to the bottom of his.

This version of Howe is tired. His message has gone stale and he looks a broken man. I don’t think we’ll get a better coach than the Howe we had for the first three years. It’ll be tough not to upgrade on the current version though. #nufc
