@MikeBales If I hadn’t seen such riches, I could live with being poor

@DickoNortheast I thought the same thing. When it was 1-1 with 15 to go…what is wrong if he isn’t even in the mix at that point?
English

Wissa not even warming up or being close to coming on, when playing at home & losing is telling, also whats the point of him being on the bench, might aswell name no one, a youngster or john ruddy !! #nufc

@davidpick1987 Absolutely nothing. What the hell have Wissa and Woltemade got to do to get a start in this current team is beyond me
English

@Bullyboy1972 Whether he is or not, it’s on the players to show they care about him with their actions and I’m seeing zero.
English

And this is why it takes time. I’m not that fussed if AG and ST leave this year as long as we replace them with 4 players that will influence the team and in turn double their value. What we can’t do, is buy another Wissa..

🚨EXCLUSIVE Anthony Gordon open to leaving Newcastle this summer #nufc telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

@MattW36565526 I also don’t think any manager will hit that endorphin rush of peak EH either. It was a new (or rekindled for us mature students) feeling that will be hard to replicate whoever comes in. It’s one hell of a job for someone to do this summer…EH or anyone else
English

@SkySports_Keith @GJ_1892 Ramsey is OK and was a decent buy, same with Thiaw.
Woltemade for me, is sellable. We will lose £ but not irretrievable.
Wissa…absolute disaster.
It’s not insurmountable but it isn’t great.

The more you think about last summer’s transfer window, the more it has killed Newcastle’s season - and will also hamstring them in future windows.
£222m worth of talent signed last summer (4 players) on the bench today, only getting a handful of minutes between them.
If even two of them had been an immediate success (like Isak, Bruno G, Trippier, Burn etc were) #NUFC would be in a much stronger position and IMO in European places.
In addition to the psychological problems when they go in front (25 point dropped from winning positions), it feels like there’s a real issue with staleness in the team.
You can get away with one big-money signing not working out…but not 4 in one window.
(NB. I think Ramsey is a player btw, but he’s not played enough due to injury).

💰 Eddie Howe when asked why £124m strikeforce Nick Woltemade & Yoane Wissa again started on the bench 🗣️ "I don't pick the team based on transfer fees. I have to pick the team based on what I see. I thought Will Osula was training well and deserved to start. I thought he played well. He took his goal well. He's got the physical attributes, the determination to do really well."
English

@JakeJackmann Spot on. I’m genuinely gutted because I will always respect EH and he will get another top coaching job. Managers have a lifecycle at a club though and it feels as though EH is coming to the bottom of his.
English

This version of Howe is tired. His message has gone stale and he looks a broken man. I don’t think we’ll get a better coach than the Howe we had for the first three years. It’ll be tough not to upgrade on the current version though. #nufc
