His life embodied the American Dream: rising from humble beginnings in the San Fernando Valley through focus, commitment, and hard work to make it in the big leagues. I’m blessed to have known him and to have shared in some good memories, from our rival high schools playing against each other to celebrating his World Series championship with the Angels in 2002 and even a late night dinner in Boston after the Dodgers played the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Angela and I send our deepest condolences to his wife Teresa, their children, and their extended family and friends.

This bill to remove the Clerk of Criminal Court isn’t about reform. It’s about control. You can’t say you believe in local control and then override local voters when you don’t like who they elected. I said it plain: this is reconstructionist, and it’s racist. You use the government as a job farm building jails in your to employ your constituents and then talk efficiency and eliminate jobs in Black communities. You’re failing your voters and some of them are starting to see the light. Every vote you make reflects your moral character. History will remember. So will the voters. Share if you care 🦾
