Was playing Civ 5 and it got me thinking: Gyökeres is basically a trebuchet. He's got elite ball striking and does serious damage when he gets set. But first you have to wheel him into position, set the whole thing up, and hope the window is still there by the time he’s ready. Some of the stats doing the rounds yesterday IE 99th percentile “found by teammates” shows he's getting service. But when the box is crowded, his first touch, aerials, and self-created separation are very clunky. He's a siege weapon great for inferior opposition - @sjatfkb

I understand Anselmino's anger. I'm not stupid. He loved it at Dortmund, largely because of the way they treated him but you know what? He would still be at Dortmund if they didn't act so disrespectfully. The human aspect is very real but why is it Chelsea who is the big bad wolf? Is Anselmino not contractually obligated to Chelsea for a long time? Is his goal not to play for Chelsea in that case? Is Chelsea evil for wanting to protect the ownership of their player's right from ill-intentioned actors? They have offered him a fantastic – likely 18 month loan in a great environment which would be great for his development. I don't see how Chelsea have acted poorly here. It's a nuanced and compliacted situation. Chelsea have protect themselves while offering him a great pathway. He is pissy because he loved it where he was. Anselmino is innocent up in all this, Chelsea have acted to protect themselves and BVB f*cked themselves, and Anselmino, over🤷‍♂️

Yamal is very much better than Estevao in almost everything but not in finishing and off the ball movement. Estevao might actually drop more numbers at the end of his career than Lamine. 4 starts for Brazil in 2025, 4 goals.
