Followers – quick non-weather PSA. Most of you know I work in cyber security and risk management. Recently, one of my followers I collaborate with got hacked through a DM—malware embedded in what looked like a harmless podcast poll. Then another one, and it went on from there..... I’ve seen exactly what they did. I know the vector now. And once it hit, it turned into a chain reaction—moving across connected accounts and followers. This thing spreads fast when people let their guard down. This is exactly why I do what I do. Here’s the reality: If you don’t have MFA turned on, you’re already behind the 8-ball. Let me be blunt: X is a cesspool. DMs are a major attack surface. WhatsApp? Also a cesspool if you’re not careful. Simple steps that matter: • Turn on MFA. Today. Not tomorrow. • Change your passwords regularly • Don’t click random links—even if it looks like someone you trust • Use common sense—if it feels off, it probably is A lot of people in this community already got hit by this wave.
