@biohackingdad @brettboettcher1 This is safe? The other recipes I’ve seen involve boiling the mixture and it’s always seemed like too much work.
English

@brettboettcher1 I make homemade greek yoghurt with raw milk: buy a live greek yoghurt at the store, put a cup in a half gallon of raw milk, sit in oven with oven light on, 36 hours later you have a far healthier greek yoghurt than store bought biohackingblog.net/p/why-i-drink-…

@owroot If the Jewish cemetery myth was enough to keep a few more cleanskins in the game, I’d say it did its job.
English

It’s crazy to think of something as extreme as tattoos being just a trend that could quickly become out of style but I guess it could be. Kind of shows how pliable people are.
Us cleanskins were playing the long game, HODLing, staying the course, staying winning.

@BowTiedTrance I had to unfollow this account; it started driving me crazy. There is no effort to disguise the AI use. I can’t get over how many people fawn over the writing. You can see how the user actually writes in some replies, and it’s quite basic. I’m fascinated by this, thanks!
English

It's to the point where you can spot the AI tells *and* the platform it came from.
"didn't just x, but also y" is the basic bot construct, but GPT mostly favors em-dashes as the separator, where Claude favors the semi-colon.
(That's a major giveaway all on its own, because hardly anyone ever uses semi-colons these days.)
But this is one of the few times in the wild that I've also spotted the AI tell of mixing weird metaphors. "Vomited" with "venom" and "mainlining" power like it's a "pathology."
Sickness, poison, drugs, and psychology, all in one sentence.
Classic!

@HannahWardEdu Ok very helpful, thanks. Currently we’re reading through one Bob reading book a day, which has been the most successful so far. I will probably get 120 lessons. The 100 lessons bk was such a disaster and I’m embarrassed to admit it took a couple of years for me to finally accept.
English

@CALaurara How's he doing with reading? I would do 120 Lessons (or whatever reading curriculum ❤️) first before you get started on this one. Other than that he should be good to go!

I'm starting American Pioneer Level 1 with two of my kids on Monday. Could not be more excited. It's going to be an absolute joy to share the stories in this curriculum with them.
I was just reading about one my children's ancestors last night who was a pioneer who started teaching at the age of 14 (!!!) and eventually had a little one-room schoolhouse on her property when she was a grandmother. I wonder if she ever read these stories to her children and students. It was delightful to be able to include some old photographs from vintage schoolhouses in the curriculum for children to look and relate to.

English

@CALaurara I'd say about 30-40 between the two kids? We usually do it for about 20 minutes!

Every Friday we do something called THE GRAND QUIZ.
It's basically just a review game of everything we learned that week in Homeschool. And whatever else. They sit on the couch, and I sit on a chair opposite by our white board with a bowl of candy.
Sometimes they have to write or sound out a word or remember the name of someone we've been learning about in the Bible or a book we're reading.
They're taking violin lessons, so we review that. I'll ask them questions about the movie we watched for Family Movie Night that week, about a sport they're currently playing, or even a recipe we made together.
Sometimes I ask them to remember stuff like our home address, what to do if a stranger offers them treats, how you're supposed to brush your teeth, or how many continents there are, what my and their dad's middle names are ... all sorts of stuff. Anything.
They get a little piece of candy for every correct answer. It's really fun.
English

@CALaurara I design most of them and print them out on document size paper, then glue stick them to the walls and floors. Elmer's glue sticks just kind of tack them up and hold the papers in place, but they are easily removed without damaging the surface under them.
English

Good thing we have inventions designed to save us from unnecessary effort. 😁 📺

@HannahWardEdu This is awesome. My age 5 son is currently in kindergarten (we used your curriculum, he raced through it in half the year because he loved it so much). Would this be appropriate to start using now or should I wait until the fall?

@HannahWardEdu I got my mlis degree in 2014. The classes related to public libraries were focused on dealing with the “unhoused,” smelly patrons, people using computers for weird things, etc. such a shame.
English

Growing up I loved our local library, so much so that I dreamed of having my wedding there. That same library became a giant holding facility for unhoused people who need access to services that would better be served elsewhere away from vulnerable children, women, and the elderly and after years of enduring conditions that were less and less safe I can't go there anymore. That's been a huge heartbreak.

Last week I went up to Marquette, MI to shoot the blue-spotted salamander migration in Presque Isle Park on the shores of Lake Superior. At 10 PM on a cold damp Sunday, they were out and about and crossing the road slowly but surely.

Had to hide this in my room and take pictures of it really quick before my kids get their hands on it and spread out all the books throughout the house 😂 they're so excited. The box is much sturdier than expected! Books are GORGEOUS. Original illustrations. Perfect size for little hands. Really lovely. I'm so happy with this purchase (especially at the price oh my goodness!!!)

@BevCross1 I can’t wait to see more, what a treat! Thank you for sharing.

@CALaurara The dolls in the washtub scene were made in the 1940's. I just got some vintage Bully Babies yesterday that are only an inch long and tall. I can't wait to feature them in a scene. Soon.

It’s Friday - you made it through another week.
You give so many hours to others… there’s no crime in taking one for yourself.
Pour the wine, light a candle, and let the bubbles do their work.
You’ve earned this. 🛁✨

@BevCross1 Fantastic, thank you! I bought a dollhouse kit for my daughter but I’ve been intimidated to start the build. This definitely brightened my feed ☺️
English

@CALaurara Yes, I belong to some dollhouse/mini groups and they will often post scenes challenges. This was one of those. "Is the baby asleep yet?"
If you enjoy these, go to my profile page and scroll back a ways. I've started posting scenes just to put some positivity in the algorithm. 😊
