Structure Fire Update: 3900 block of Revolution Park Drive. The Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force determined the fire originated in a large pile of cardboard. The winds contributed to the fire spread to surrounding cardboard. The majority of the fire was contained to the exterior. Although there was extension of fire to the interior of the building, it was mostly controlled by the sprinkler system. Estimated content/property loss $65K.

Structure Fire: 3900 block of Revolution Park Drive. Engine 43 on scene with heavy smoke and fire showing. A second alarm has been transmitted.

This morning at 0800 hours, Engine 44 was officially placed in service. With the sound of a single long alert tone, the announcement was made across Charlotte Fire: “Engine 44 is now in service.” Temporarily housed at Firehouse 43, Engine 44 will serve the River District until its permanent home is completed off Dixie River Road. With this addition, Charlotte Fire now proudly operates 44 engine companies—each one a commitment to service, readiness, and protection for our city. To the firefighters riding Engine 44: may your shifts be safe, your response swift, and your service honorable. Watch the moment Engine 44 went in service.
