Here’s the thing about the SpaceX IPO: Even if it becomes one of the rare IPOs that outperforms, most people won’t invest enough money for it to meaningfully change their financial future. People spend their time chasing the next big winner while ignoring the boring strategy that has created the vast majority of wealth: consistently investing in low-cost index funds and ETFs for decades. Putting $5,000 into a hot IPO won’t make you wealthy. Building a habit of investing every month, year after year, probably will. Wealth is usually built through discipline, not predictions. The people who win long term aren’t the ones looking for moonshots. They’re the ones consistently buying great investments on a recurring, automated schedule, staying invested, and letting compounding do the heavy lifting.

I really don’t understand true greed. If I was worth $1 trillion, you’d have to physically stop me from solving as many of the world’s problems as possible. Everyone would have a home, food on the table, proper healthcare, happiness. I just don’t get it.

Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500. If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.
